There has definitely been a change to everyone's endurance, whether it's a bug or a feature. If it is a feature, it's a really bad idea. Even a character who is only carrying a few glyphs and nothing else has to stop every thirty seconds now. Just to test this, I created a Kran with 105 endurance at the start. Such a character used to be able to run from Hydlaa to Bronze Doors without stopping. Now they have to stop several times. I see many people are stuck in the middle of the road, waiting for stamina recovery. I also see many desperately trying to get away from "cutthroats" on the way to Bronze Doors, always stopping from exhaustion.
Not only has the consumption rate has been increased but the recovery time has been severely decreased.
Here's an example of the past few gaming attempts:
- Can't join a server because it almost constantly shows itself as "failed" or "wait".
- After finally joining the server, it almost always disconnects within 5 minutes.
- When the server doesn't disconnect, all the monsters are "impervious to attack" due to NPC client being down (again, for at least 2 days and 2 nights).
- Trying to do quests instead is impossible due to the new "endurance feature" because most of them involve a lot of running between Hydlaa, Ojaveda, Bronze Doors and DR. Many involve mob killing anyway.
- The same problems persist for two days and two nights straight, while the forum post falsely promises only "2 to 3 hours" server migration period on Fragnetics.
- When the server finally finishes its migration, I decide to try a monotonously boring mob killing, just to have more points to put into the new "endurance".
- After nearly falling asleep killing the same mobs, still coupled with many disconnects and lag, I decide that it's enough and try to do some quests.
- First quest was "Jirosh Stolen Statue" quest, where at some point the dialog gets so horrific and badly written that even if you decipher through the nonsense and know the right answer, it turns out it only expects an exact phrase from you. A phrase that is just as disjointed as the quest's NPC dialog.
- After wasting time typing numerous combinations of exact phrases in the aforementioned quest and finally cracking it (only to prove that my very first guess was correct, just worded differently but the NPC was too dumb to understand it), I try a new quest called "The Emporium Raid".
- Turns out that after you give a certain item to a certain fairly hidden NPC and once again need to guess the correct phrase, there is a time limit before that NPC will lose the line of quest dialog and start responding as if he doesn't understand you. Discarding this quest doesn't work, giving you an explicit message that this quest cannot be discarded. The item is also lost at this point.
- After trying the same quest with a different character and cracking the correct phrase (once again proving that my first guess was correct), a certain other NPC at some point tells you to give the same item to a previous NPC and ask for more information. I give the item to the previous NPC but instead of showing an updated dialog, he goes back to the original dialog, as if seeing this item for the first time. Multiple attempts to get the NPC to say the new lines simply puts you in a loop.
- Tried with yet another character and finally, the second time the dialog was updated.
- After frustration with the previous quest, I get a new quest called "Boralis Wants Neyehbes".
- Turns out that the quest is bugged because you can't give a certain item to a certain NPC because trading of those specific items "hasn't been implemented yet". What happened to the promise of "Complete review of quests, all of them are working in game now" on the main site? Was that just a misleading PR lie?
- I decide to do some RP with other players instead. After finding a fairly interesting one, turns out that it involves traveling quite a large distance within the game. Not only do we have to stop multiple times but the server eventually lags and times out again.
- Exited the game, played a different free MMORPG in "Beta" with a few friends instead, without any of such problems.
I'd like to see the developers actually try playing the game for a change. That is play it with regular characters, not maxed out ones, and see what it feels like, instead of making never-ending excuses that it is a "Beta" or that it's "normal". It is anything but normal, even for a "Beta" and is definitely not acceptable for an MMORPG. Take pointers from other more successful games, RPGs or MMORPGs. Try playing Oblivion, it could teach you a thing or two.
Considering that there are no "Goujahs", "Megaras", "Pterosaur", magic portals (except DR) or public transportation of any sort, and your own feet are the *ONLY* means of transportation in the game now, this new "feature" should be fixed immediately. Fix the bugged quests too, while you're at it.
