What should happen when you die?

Im wondering, alot of games let you just restart in town or some thing like that. Other games like Diablo 2, have a hardcore mode causing theyre character to die permanently. Whereas, others let you die under some circumstances but not under others. What system would you like seen in planeshift?

I love the idea of having to battle your way back from another world  :D  That would be like the coolest and something you dont see in online games. Thats more soul reaverish :p A deffinate nice touch though!

The battling out of hell does sound fantastic :D Having such a consequence will also hopefully make people think twice before blindly running into dangerous situations (as long as you don\'t make the other world too cool, or everyone will die on purpose, just for the visit and the exp! :) )

Or maybe if you die and have a good record for helping people in battle situations, you could go to \"heaven\" (or a area like it) and get good deed points... or some sort of a halo that gives you powers for a short time.

Escape out of some dungeon created by the creature that killed you? That would be cool.. but hell is cool too.. it\'s just that it would take so long to get out with all those demons.... :evil: :evil: :evil: !!

i think that (if we do have to battle out of hell)

that there should be certain restrictions like a mage couldnt use his best spells (punishment fer dieing) unless he is to low of a level( might be hard to do)

and that different levels should go to different hells
that way level 1 people dont have to kill high level demons and high level people dont get out easy

plus your health should be at 100% again if/when you make it out

sounds like a good idea, but what if you die in hell, it has to be possible to die otherwise people could lvl up there without worrying bout hits, so if you do die what would happen?

if you die maybe you just go back to the farther into hell and have even more limitations

hmmmmm.....doesnt sound to good because you could keep dieing and never ger out

that could be quite bad after a while. It cant go infinitley deep so there has to be an end eventually. when u get to the end than what

maybe if you die in hell there could be the option to be set back farther into hell or return to you spot with only like 1/4 health
