I voted storyline.  It's what makes the game feel right and gives purpose to everything else.  Without it, this is just a spreadsheet with good graphics.  So far, for as much as everyone keeps telling me to "read the lore... :-X  sorry, settings  ;)", the game doesn't back up any of it.  Supposedly, if I read the settings, we're in some big stalactite, living by the light of the crystal... but there's night and day (but no sun), the only underground a sewer (clue: if the only light is a crystal, and you didn't say anything about it cycling power, and everyones complaining about things being too dark, how about getting rid of night and day??!?!).  There's talk of a government, nothing in game though.  Over and over I read things that this PS doesn't even remotely feel like, like you're describing some other game.  The whole thing feels like a cheap knock off of every other game out there, when it talks about being so different.

Sorry, I know this isn't a complaint thread, but story is very critical to me.  I just want to explain why my vote is storyline and why PS continues to lose it's appeal.  Maybe it'll pick up in the higher end, I don't know if I'll care by the time I get there.  After storyline though, I like to craft and work killing bigger and better things.  I would like a crafting system equal to mob drops in quality of gear created.

EDIT: Sorry, upon further study, it appears the crystal is affected by some other surface out there that is governed by night and day.  In the end though, despite a new and original idea, it ends up being just like every other game in existence.

MustangNR,

I seriously doubt planeshift is ready to meet your needs as a player.

I didn't see a spot for it so I didn't respond to your poll, but in case you're wondering:  The friendships and time I have spent with fellow players.  :)

Don't get all drippy but....
I think that comes under game mechanics as we all try to tweak the engine to get better performance! Some work under the hood with the nuts and bolts, drive train and axle grease, others work on the surface adding mud flaps, cup holders and fuzzy dice.   :D

Game Mechanics (leveling, training, etc)
Role Playing

Hmmm.. well, those things should work together. But the way "Game Mechanics" aka "leveling, training" is implemented now, they don't.
I selected Role Playing in the hope that "Game Mechanics" will - one day - work for "Power-" Role Players also.
I actually have an idea in mind about that, but I'm not good enought to represent it in a good/understandable way.. unfortunately.

Story writing is, indeed, an important part - or rather basis - for Role Playing.

This really isn't a fair poll question. It should have been a list of check boxes.

The graphics are incredible, the game mechanics are very good, there are so many areas to explore that I have gotten lost numerous times, etc...

The NPC dialog is not where it needs to be yet, but it is a work in progress and is getting better all the time.

Crafting is also a work in progress, but I have not made any items yet so I cannot speak to this at this time.

RolePlaying is very nice, when i can get others to participate.

Better Monsters... I am finally getting to where i do not die instantly when taking on Ulbers 1 v 1, so I have not needed "better" monsters. A wider variety of monsters would be welcome though.

Powerful Items... I have heard of these, I may own one, but I still can't equip it. Can't really comment on this one yet either.

GM Events... I have not participated in any of these to date. I will have to try to get on during one of these sometime though.

Keep up the good work!!!

I don't see why it would have to be check boxes.  It is, after all, asking for the ONE item the is MOST important to you.

MustangNR,

I seriously doubt planeshift is ready to meet your needs as a player.

Actually, the game I can live with. I'm enjoying progressing my little elf and playing her as feisty one trying to prove that yes, elves can fight too!  :)

It's the forums I find problems with and trying to resolve the information here, or lack thereof, with what is or isn't in the game, as the case may be.

We do not allow spoilers, end of story. All the information you need to play your character is in the game.

Rolelplaying, exploring, and having the NPC system up more often than not.

In that order.
