I like that idea Mythryndel. I want more people to respond to my first request about getting this set up. I would dearly hate to get a list of guests together and not have a Reunion party for them to go to.

I was hoping for a huge response here. If I do not see more people interested in this event then I will scrap it. I need more ideas and more people to help me. Let's try this again, how does a PS Renunion sound of all your old friends? Anyone have other event ideas?

There are already a lot of great ideas here, is it unfortunate that they take more work than typing a couple sentences? Probably, but then, that is the problem with doing something pro-active, it requires activity . . .

How much more so making the game . . .  a question for another time perhaps . . .

For now focus on gathering the resources that have presented themselves to you-

Make an irc channel for your people to gather . . .

Use this forums user list to gather email addresses of people you miss; if their email is pubic here I doubt they will mind being contacted . . .

Set a target date as a goal . . .

You have more than enough ideas (ideas are not hard to come by, implementation is the hard part) to have a splendid event, now get in the trenches and make something happen!

Then is this Reunion a bad idea Parallo? (PM me if you wish) It is all about finding old players and having some fun I thought. If they do not want to come they do not have to. So far I see little interest anyway.

I didn't say it was a bad idea but using forums to unearth details about people that have chosen to disassociate themselves with the one thing connecting you to them, Planeshift, seems a bit strange. To be frank, I'd probably tell you to leave me alone were I in their shoes.

It is like having a RL school reunion where the school is all we had in common. Our class 'clown' showed up and he was no longer a 'clown' anymore. This guy was fat, short and ugly during school. Since being in the military he was well built, handsome and well educated. We were all impressed. After the party he had many new friends he did not have before. I had hoped that some who left PS might return and find they enjoy it and stay because they made new friends as well as seeing some old ones. Fun for all. Maybe, maybe not.

I just marvel that one so polite as you would over step that boundary and gather personal details. I would have thought it a step over the line for someone that always behaves in such a timid way.
