Server Offline - August 29, 2008 through Sep 09, 2008

Also, the stats on the server status page are frozen, as mentioned in a post that was posted about a month ago.  I know this because it is still stuck on August 29. 2008, so something big must have happened.

Ok, It won't be long now, I think Xordan was trying to say that, they havn't figured out the problem, but they are going to go ahead and start the servers agin, with about the stats and stuff from a week ago, right?

I understood it more like "we don't know what happened or when it will be fine again, but in worst case we will finally bring the server back with a week old data"
Thus, if hopefully tomorrow someone from fragnetics has a look at the server and figures out that hardware needs to be replaced, it might need some more time.
But maybe it just needs a hard-reset and will be fine again tomorrow.
Just guesses.

A daily update about what happened or not happened would be great *hint for 'officials'*
(Feel free to delete this post if something official gets posted.)

hey guys just chill for a bit ^^ the devs will tell all when thay know whats hapening but untill then theres not going to be much other then players complaining or makis sugestions for the devs to tell us stuff thay dont know.... this is not for the devs to fix this is for the ppl who suply and run the server or thats what i have goten out of the devs posts and just remember the people who need to know have been told so thay will be working on it and the server wont be up any sooner if you constantly ask/complain so just chill besides i already answered on the first page when it will be up.... soon *grins*

and remember planeshift is alpha stage so things like this will tend to hapen weather its kus of PS code or kus of the server

 also thanks to the DEVS for doing such great work and thanks for fragnetics for such a great server for free!!!

Well it's been about 4 days since I was able to log on, does anybody have any new news whatsoever, or do I just need to find another game, because sitting around with nowhere to go  and no one to talk to is irritating the hell outta me.

So talk to people!  Stewing about it or wanting to storm off to another game because of a little downtime won't help anyone, and it certainly won't make you any happier.  Our suggestions earlier were serious!   Try them out.

Im relaxed and comfortable with the server being down for two weeks. My suggestion of giving a daily update was a try to get things more calm and giving waiting people updates is good (professional) behaviour. An update can also be that there are no news.

its a softwere issue or hardwerei allmost 95 percent sure the other 5 a mix of hackers and other out of our hands stuff

Hey! I have a great suggestion for something to do during downtime.....

I may be wrong but it is my guess that those that simply complain all the time on the forum are the same ones that cannot RP there way out of a paper bag in the game so.........

Planeshift is not in Alpha stage, it is in Beta stage.  Games are not available to the public while in Alpha stage, they are tested in house until the Beta is ready, then the public is allowed to test them.

nope it is late alpha unless the devs say otherwise. regardless of the scrict definition of alpha and beta.
