Hope for Adrenalina and all MacPPCusers?
« on: September 05, 2008, 09:41:40 pm »
Hi,

can we - MacPPC users hope, that the MacDev takes the time during the "Offtime" of PS and fix all these horrible bugs, which are in the new version for the MacPPC ( failed loading Region, out of bounds, etc).

So that we can play the game and go to all areas of Yliakum on the day, when the server will awake from its long sleep.( When will come this Day???)

Greetings from a frustating PS Player. :@#\

just because the server is down does not mean the devs have extra time to fix bugs. and as said before only one dev can look into this and he will when he gets a chance.

Is there a chance that using Crossover with the windows client might work? As soon as i get a chance i was going to try it but im a bit busy with school atm...if it works then maybe it could be a temporary solution for the ppc mac users (and intel users like me who are having the same problems :P )

P.S. I'm not even sure if there IS a crossover for PPC users now that i think about it... >.>

I tried another game on my intel mac and it failed as it was directX I am not sure how cx's opengl works or if it does at all, you could also try darwine and see if you get any better results there.

I have the same issue, Adrenalina, and tried opening my char on a friend's Windoze machine
Impressive / disappointing results: Access all areas;D
...so if you've got access to some kind of Win-box, it can be used as a temporary remedy
But on our own machines, we have to stay put in Hydlaa and surroundings  >:(
We must be patient, and let the Mac Dev get around to doing something about it, even if it won't happen tomorrow
We, all of us, serve a higher purpose. Finding it out, however... :)

Nendo, replace the maps in 4.02 with the ones from 4.01. You still suffer the PPC bugs from 4.01 but at least you can get in game.

Hi, Caarie,

finally today after the GMs have put my char in Hydlaa Plaza, I wanted to go to Oja and at the gate to Hydlla SSE I got the message load region failed and the client crshed, and cannot restart again. With a second char I have asked for help by the GMs.
So with the version 4.02 I can stay only in Hydlaa Plaza and winch.

It´s got more horrible.

I have one question. Does the Mac Dev read the posts in the forum, Now it is three months with this bugs for the MacPPC. Or is the interest for us Macplayers gone away from the Devs.

What can I do in PS, when I only can stay in Hydlaa Plaza or in winch??  Nothing. - no quests, no trains, no jobs.

For now I wait if the GMs can put my char again in Hydlaa Plaza. And then I only come in the game for meeting my guildfriends.

I am very frustatet, and rest only in PS for the Guild.

If there will not change something, I think to finish the game.

Thanks

Adrenalina

Adrenalina keep in mind what i have said before the devs have rl to tend to first, and we have only one dev that can look into thiis and he is a very busy guy, i dont keep track of what they do and if they use the forum or not, please dont ask if they read the forum or have time to fix a bug unless you can fix it or take time to find someone to do so.

I just post again on this topic to keep it alive in case of a dev to see it  :P ......not much of a chance but who knows ? I'm sure there's a lot of ppc users like me waiting for the fix.If i could understand how to fix it , i would like to help but unfortunatly it's impossible for me to find where the problem is even if i tryed so many things in some folders i thought the problem could be.
I still think the devs are doing a great job and i'll continue to wait for the fix
thx

Please dont bump threads it isnt necessary, as has been already mentioned in this thread there is only one Mac dev atm and he knows

Small update, don't know it this is relevant, but hey, every little bit might make it just easy enough that the Mac Dev can finally solve this...  :detective:
I've updated my system from Mac 10.5.4 to 10.5.5, incl. a Java-update.
A little experimenting quickly shows me to be as "cursed" as ever, still get "map load failure" or "out of bounds" in those infamous areas
(you know who they are) :)
So no improvement there, hope it helps all the same  :sweatdrop:
We, all of us, serve a higher purpose. Finding it out, however... :)

I'm a PPC user and I strongly recommend using the old maps.  They allow me to travel everywhere except the arena.  Any problems caused by using old maps are insignificant compared to the problems introduced by the new map.

Old maps = playable with few problems
New maps = unplayable

It really is that simple.

see my comment on the same forum-entry that was linked to in the last post. Using the old map *does* work and so far there are almost no problems for me.
