we are the music-makers, we are the dreamers of dreams - Gene Wilder as willy wonka

Johnny Depp\'s a poser to the throne. No one will ever play the part as well as Gene Wilder

sorry to come in late but there is a fantastic game called Priston Tale. it is also korean but it supports english too, which is the majority of the players. it\'s in beta so it\'s free.

here\'s the link http://eng.pristontale.com/
a must download

for Mu-online English try these links (i didn\'t bother tryin since i only got 3gb permonth... yes aus sux for cable deals):

http://ftp://muonline.nefficient.co.kr/pub/muonline/Global/MU0_93d_full(Eng).exe
http://ftp://muonline.nefficient.co.kr/pub/muonline/Global/MU_MusicAddOn(Eng).exe

i would assume the main problem would be the patches... coz i got no idea whether or not they\'d make em for english client as well... but since i\'m not d/l\'in it myself i don\'t really care...

I don\'t know of any -good- free ones.  I know of decent cheap ones, however.

Namely NexusTK (the kingdom of the winds)--a korean/fantasy/cheesy anime-based game set, of course, in ancient korea.

It had 4 base roles/paths: Rogue, Mage, Poet, Warrior
Each path has 4 subpaths, each devoted to different aspects (like a rogue could be a spy or a ranger, while a warrior could be a barbarian or a shogun, for instance).
The subpaths are player-controled, however, so you are selected based off of roleplaying ability not by merely doing something to appease a random NPC.

Now the graphics aren\'t too bad--reminiscent of Lunar: Silver Story and other side-view rpgs (I think they are nicer than runescape\'s even though runescape sports \"3D GRAPHIX@#$!\").

The community is VERY interesting. That is what I found most compelling about the game.  The game is set up so the player can take on jobs and specialities.  For instance, there is a team of \"judges\"--basically players selected by administrators (\"archons\") who act as policemen, literally arresting people who break laws listed by the kingdoms.  If you\'re arrested, you get sent to jail and are forced into typing sentences repeatedly as well as clicking bazillions of pop-ups to ensure that you aren\'t using a macro program.

That\'s just a miniscual tidbit of information about the community--the actual gameplay is pretty uneventful, however.

It revolves around a level system. The maximum level is 99, like many games.  However at 99, you can start using experience earned and convert it into HP and MP.
This causes the game to revolve around experience-garnering (aka \"hunting\").  The other aspect of the game would be pk-ing.

That was the highlight of the game, the creative pk-system.  You could pk in \"arenas\" or wilderness areas like as you would in diablo-- pk inside towns or heavily habitated areas was  non-existant.

That\'s not the creative part; the creative part was the \"carnage\" system.  The carnage was basically a mock-battle where 2 to 4 teams were selected by a panel of \"carnage hosts\" (who were players selected by archons for their job) who evened out teams based by strengths (level, HP/MP, general knowledge of player\'s skill). And basically, they wouuld then just let the two teams at it.

http://www.nexustk.com for more information.

And the screenshots on the site are outdated by 5 years.

Yeah that\'s the only game I can think of.

does anyone know where you actually sign up to play Mu Online?  I got that english client (at .7k/sec, feh on slow FTP\'s)  but i dont know where to get an account...hmm..

and i played nexusTK when it was in beta, sorta freaky, and there was only like this one thing to kill, so all the players were crowded around this big cow or bear or something and were all beating it with sticks... :-p  quite funny, and i\'m sure it\' a lot better now! :)

If you\'re looking for a good mmorpg i think the best choices are Dragon Raja or Ragnarok Online(if you\'re willing to pay for the membership of course). Im still looking for a FREE, good, 3D mmorpg i hope PS ends my search.
Little angel, go away...
Come again some other day...
Devil has my ear today...
I\'ll never hear a word you say...
He Promised I would find a little solace and some peace of mind...
Whatever. just as long as I don\'t feel so desperate and ravenous.
