Again, congrats on the event.
Yes it was TV-show-like... but that's what the court processes are like. And if anything, a TV-show like court is entertaining.
In real life, people that are in a similar position to devs/GMs are prosecutors and judges, and possibly a defendant.
You don't get to be a judge irl simply by deciding you will RP as one. You have to adhere to the system and work your way there.
Remember, PlaneShift is striving to create an emulation of society. This means the masses of players will only ever be normal people, and only the privileged are anything more.
So, the fact that we 'normal' players even have the honour of being witnesses and jurors in the court is good enough for me. I was VERY pleased with the amount of player involvement in the court.
For those who want more player involvement, I urge you to realise that the GMs/Settings devs ARE players, that have played long and hard and earned the right to be elevated to their positions.
Again, congrats on the people who took their time to put this event together.
Anyone with criticism, I invite you to work as long and as hard as them to get that status and then YOU run an event of equal or greater quality, because I believe the effort taken by the people on this event was... I have no words, but I challenge you, to be as good as them.
If you become better, than that can only be good for PlaneShift. But I am more than happy with the events as they are.
To sum it up: Quality is excellent, it takes alot of effort, either be grateful, or step up and do hard work yourself, and prove to us something better's possible, because in my opinion, the quality so far matches RL, which is unfair, unjust, etc...
Welcome to reality, in a virtual space!!
