Missing Notes

I've just checked my quests list, and all my personal notes are gone 

Are they lost and gone forever, or can they be brought back?

I hope it's the latter, because I can't remember who wants how many of what!

The quest note interface is kind of strange in that you have to remember to specifically save them after you have input them, I've been burned by that before. If this is the case with you, all may not be lost as you can open the characters chat log in a text editor and search the npc dialog and get the specific instructions you were given.

The notes that vanished, had been saved, updated and re-saved since I started my character.  I got burned myself to start off with, so I'm careful about saving them now.

I believe the notes are saved locally to your computer.  Did you switch computers? Check the saved file on the computer you remember setting them up with and they should be in there.

  Found a copy of the notes, so I can indeed check back on them.
