Happy 2010 everyone!

You have no idea how much I miss PlaneShift and this community! Or maybe you do, and that makes it even more difficult... *sniff*! But we had some great times, and those will always warm my heart! *hugs all around*

Someone explain why the 20th century was 1900-1999 then.

Neko's wrong imo. 1st =/= One.

19th century = 18XX

21st century = 20XX

Hate to say it, sarras may be right.

I'm open to further opinion.

Best Wishes for 2010 everyone!
Cherppow: So you could come back sometime? You made the dreaded Death Realm but that doesn't mean we don't like you anymore  :'(

0 to 9 counting makes more sense, I guess along the way some of the calendar definitions were changed to be more logical. Of course there will always be purists who will claim this is not the way the Pope would have wanted it :P
We're not evil. We're simply amazing.

Well, I think I've done my duty as the thread has now hit page three. Soooooooooooo...........

Actually, both are correct, as it all depending on which counting method your country and the people around you have adopted to use.

Some countries prefer the ordinal method of counting the Gregorian calender, whereas others use a cardinal based counting method.
ordinal: centuries, decades, etc all start on 1 and end in 10.
cardinal, all start on a nice even easy to use 0, and end on a 9, as the fact that there was no year 0 is ignored and the entirety of all dates BC are consider as year 0. this method is also widely adopted as the defacto standard for ISO 8601, which is used in official time keeping for that nifty little clock down there on your OS.

I just like making an other wise very short with little room for topic expansion thread play out a little longer to see if we can get a good discussion going.   :detective:

Happy New Year to all!

(Yes I know this thread is a year old but why use a thread each year when you can use the same thread every year?:innocent:)

May this new Decade be even better than the last!!!

Well what is strange is that I went to a New Years public celebration thing, and they had like people singing and presenters and what have you, and last year they said a new start to a new decade so hmmmm, I guess it's just a 2 way thing here you're both wrong but both right.

Happy New Year!  \\o// \\o//
You maybe roleplaying but you could still be OOC.
