Most guilds (including noob guilds) stick up for each other and share knowledge. In this sense, the description that you gave made it sound like an ordinary generic guild - just like that non-descript black and white can of GENERIC BEER.

Yuck !
I would say erase the parts about sticking together, sharing info, and rank descriptions and rewrite it from a purely in character point of view.
What draws your guild mates together ?
What makes your guild different from joe-noob's guild ? ( aside from name, rank descriptions, etc.. )
Why would an outsider who does not know you or any of your members want to join you ?
What sort of thing do you guys do ?
A merchant character might look to join a merchant guild because he knows that he will benefit from fellow merchants.
Another character might join a cult because he's drawn to the cult's philosophy, the cultist's lifestyle, mystique, etc...
Now if a character heard about Protege ... why would he want to join ?
- Because its lead by Zon ? "Who's Zon", he might wonder.
- Because he wants protection ? Well, the rest of the guilds would probably do that.
