Yes I did because I was bored and i had nothing to do, it only took about an hour. It was just a shot in Ojaveda and put some texts saying my guild and such.

I disagree, I'm having trouble with it since I'm not a tech-head.

PlaneShift's a pretty social hobby.

Not everyone's a computer expert, but PlaneShift players are certainly peculiar. However, I never found anyone to be "overly intellectual."

Due to the recent switch to CrystalSpace 1.9, unfortunately, PlaneShift requires some more technical knowledge at the moment.

But PlaneShift was not made with the purpose to repel less technical educated people, at least originally. 

Our developers are trying hard to solve the problems and to optimize the playing experience even for technically less featured PCs; yet, CrystalSpace 1.9 has its demands. Especially about graphic hardware. It now belongs to the category of "the games which require dedicated gaming hardware"...

To get back on topic again, I've always used 'geek' and 'nerd' as 'obsessed with something, anything, really'

For example you might have a sports nerd or a computer nerd or an airplane nerd or whatever else you want.
