This organisation will feature a structure. After all, any member needs to hold at least two useless offices so he can add fancy titles to his name. Furthermore, science is nothing without proper bureaucracy. Which scientist would not file for expenses he had buying paper? On the other hand, test subjects need to legally consent to waive all rights. There will be a basic structure in place to handle those important issues.

I read a Lord of the Rings/ Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda fanfic once... it's kinda close.

So now we know there will be structure, but what about awarding prestigious awards for prestigious works in areas of prestigiousness?

The Server MOTD discourages having "20 roleplaying snobs" (meaning those who only roleplay among each other)... but it seems you intentionally misunderstood that and try to establish "an organisation of 20 who are roleplaying some snobs" (while being open to newcomers, seeking unrelated chars to express your difference to them) -- well, that would indeed be a challenge. And a good one.

I just doubt that one of my chars would fit in, their characters were never planned to be big-headed ... well ... how long in advance can one plan a character? They develop too much from their own experience.

Being a snob OOC is where the [quote of LIGH(meaning those who only roleplay among each other)... ]
being a snob IC fits what they want to do, if you ever talk to a real scientist, generally you get a nerd who thinks he is better then you becuase he can invent a raygun to blow out your brains.
it adds a unique-ness to the game
it also addds somthing for me to kick around, oh if only vvallace were here, he would deifinitly chop heads on this one
