1) To buy books that are in Jayose
2) Sangwa's wish about the Setting Expanded
3) Instead of making new cities, re-make Hydlaa plaza (not a thread)
4) More animations
5) Wipe
You maybe roleplaying but you could still be OOC.

Good Question, you can have my Opinion  :)

1. Reasonable GUI (let me cast spells in a simple way, drag and drop and hit a button)
2. Reasonable  Game Mechanics (balancing)
3. Reasonable Character Animations (one race does a "bow" as idle animation.. like WTF?)
4. Reasonable  Game Engine (seems like you need Linux/NVIDIA)
5. Reasonable Quest Bugfixes (and fix the bugs quick, like in less than 6 months)
...and 6th, fix all well known Exploits.  :beta:

I understand that the combat system wish isn't necessarily included in the wishlist, I chose to post my thoughts on Heavy Armor and Daggers in the Complaint Department, linked here:  http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=37912.0

1) A more balanced, realistic combat system that does not include un-realistically low damages and imbalance in the damage type and level of different weapons.  If the game is meant to be playable, this needs to be fixed.  I'd even (temporarily) settle if just the second part of this, suggestion #2, was fixed.
2) All weapons and armor training to equal levels. Having axe go to 150, and swords only to 100 is completely unfair and imbalanced. Likewise with LA at 60 and HA at 100.  This shouldn't be a very difficult fix, and this would make a huge difference in the combat system right now.
3) Finish creating and designing the models for missing races: Klyros female, Ylian female, Lemur male and female,  Xacha male and female, etc. People want to play their characters and have their avatars actually portray the correct race they're supposed to be.
4) I'll say it again because it's so crucial: Fix the combat system.  Fix the damage type for daggers, make Ranged actually worth all the training tria it requires, make it fair.
5) Sangwa's settings idea
Hey look kids, it's the antichrist Marsuveus!
What? Doesn't he just look huggable? Aw, c'mon, give him a hug.

Well, as far as i know, Windows/ATI fails miserably.
It can be played, but it looks really bad and the Frame rate is a shame.
Can CS perform well on this Hardware/Software ? Its not Exotic.

If Crystal Space is really bad on ATI/Windows, it may be better to use a more compatible Engine, like Irrlicht.

And to add insult to injury... we cant run down a Hill on a mount, because it would cause falling damage...  the physics are broken, too.  :beta:

Oh if we can do hard stuff my 6th would be iPlaneShift (Planeshift that runs on iPod touchs, iPhones, and iPads)

and I agree with Caraick about the whole balancing with combat. Even though they say it's not easy it's still needs to be done. It's better to do it now then to leave it for later, you don't want to get to 0.9 and have to wait another 20 years because you left the balancing last. I am sure you want to get to that point and just go to your goal of 1.0 without major difficulties in your way, get it over and done with I say  ;)

Easy.

1 - Improving RP Immersion (By developing reasonable Quests and Events and by expanding the settings into plot material.
2 - Improving In-Game Economy (It would do great wonders if most items implemented could get a use);
3 - Making PlaneShift more user friendly (plenty of players stopped playing because it became too heavy with the shaders);
4 - Making levelling easier at first and harder at the end
5 - Better immersing from the GM's part in player oriented plots (i.e. getting interested about what's going on and correcting players [godmodding, tweaking, trolling] where needed.  i.e. not interacting only when requested.)

These would be great. Really great. The sixth idea would be having the Dark Empire own everyone's soul, in and out of character.

Disclaimer: This is my opinion and I can be reasoned with. I'm probably right, though.

1. Having the ability to toggle the logging of the Guild Channel.
2. Having the ability to toggle the logging of the Group Channel.
3. Having the ability to toggle the logging of the Alliance Channel.
4. Having the ability to toggle the logging of the Gossip Channel.
5. Having the ability to toggle the logging of Tells.

I'm afraid it has nothing to do with the game engine. It's the problem of Nvidia better supporting OpenGL than ATI. Just a guess. Linux is not much different - Nvidia is way better for 3D graphics.

exactly nvidia on windows and linux work best. But this is just because drivers are better. When you buy an ati you pay less because you get worse drivers.
macosx is another world as the opengl backend is done by apple and it's the worse around as it supports barely opengl 2.1 and has really bad performance: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=apple_linux_gaming&num=1
Also it wasn't specified which ati.

1. Reasonable GUI (let me cast spells in a simple way, drag and drop and hit a button)

it's already there... search.

@novacadian reason? you can filter them easily with grep.

3 - Making PlaneShift more user friendly (plenty of players stopped playing because it became too heavy with the shaders);

then go back to rlcompat search unshadowed in planeshift.cfg and replace with rlcompat.  (btw user friendliness has nothing to do with shaders)

2) All weapons and armor training to equal levels. Having axe go to 150, and swords only to 100 is completely unfair and imbalanced. Likewise with LA at 60 and HA at 100.  This shouldn't be a very difficult fix, and this would make a huge difference in the combat system right now.

talad did that already

5. Reasonable Quest Bugfixes (and fix the bugs quick, like in less than 6 months)

they are locked because of the faction quest lines which i'm sure will require plenty of fixes themselves maybe because i'm too negative according to talad :P

3. Reasonable Character Animations (one race does a "bow" as idle animation.. like WTF?)
? are you sure someone wasn't greeting you a lot :)

here are my 5
1: every race looks different, as models take time it would be great to have different skins for each race (as a lemur i would rather look like an azure dermorian than the same as a average dermorian)
2: more use of religion and gods within the game as we know the gods exist in yliakum but seldom are they even spoken off
3: higher loot rate from monsters especially animal parts so you don't need to kill 50+ rats to get a few eyes, to me it takes the fun out of it too much of hard work for little reward and must turn away new people
4: smelt metal items down to stock, even poor quality stock would be fine
5: make it easier for community to submit content, and have requests/lists from devs of what is currently required, this probably mainly applies to the art department 2d + 3d

@novacadian reason? you can filter them easily with grep.

Many of the reasons have been covered previously. So instead of going over all that again allow me to explain the outcome of that discussion.

For a while a grep filtering was used; placing the filtered files in a subdirectory. This was done manually and like many practises it became less regular over time; to the point that it would often be done only when looking for something in the logs which was made difficult due to the majority of the logs being OOC. As a side note, this only became an issue once joining a Guild which also brought in two other Guilds' chatter via an Alliance channel.

It got to the point that the practise came to an end and log files were rarely used for anything.

To be sure a cron job could have been put in place to call a Perl script to perform the task. Yet can that be expected from an average user? That excuse is not mine; as it could have been done; yet for whatever degree of distraction/lazyness/must get to that sometime excuses it was not. If it had been a simple tick in the client configuration it most certainly would have been taken care of.

The effect of having to give in to turning on the Guild and Alliance channels (as they were going to my log files anyway and were often monitored with tail -f <logfile> in a terminal window which also took me out of full screen mode loosing a great deal of immersion) removed an immersion to the game that existed when first starting to play PS that was never found again.

It is my feeling that this has eventually turned me into an occational player. Is that a bad thing or just an evolution? Not sure. It has lead me to finally getting out of daily play and getting around to things like compiling the PS server on my machine. That shall, hopefully, lead to some PS hacking. Perhaps the first order of business will be to implement Aiwendil's code suggestions of how to implement my wish.

Just in case that does not happen it seemed like this thread was a good one to declare my top 5 ideas to be implemented. It is my feeling, for me at least, that not having this feature had far reaching results of robbing me of the game immersion which was felt when first joining PS. It is a non-scientific observation and perhaps that would have happened anyway. With my suggestion installed it would have, most likely, taken longer to happen in the very least.
