The only \"true\" punk band I\'ve heard is \"The Icarus Line\"... now that\'s punk!

\"russian war songs\"

Yeahh!!

I\'m quite obsessive when it comes to music.

I am drifting away from most rock, since it\'s often too repetitive.  Metallica is truly creative.

I\'ve got 327 hours of music on my computer...all (well, almost all) from CDs I have.  I\'ve never been a member of Kazaa, Napster, or any of those other services...just Bittorrent in order to get RH 9.  (For the record, I\'m against copyrights!)

My fave song is A Passion Play by Jethro Tull.  It\'s 45 minutes long, and I have that song playing in my head all the time.  0_0

Video game music is so underrated!  Of video games, these are my faves for music:

Dark Reign 2 - You seriously have to buy it if you find it!  This music is awsome!  It would be fantastic PS music.
Rayman - A game I initially bought for the music, but the game\'s fun, too.
Gauntlet - The original one for the NES, though the new ones are good, too.
Castlevania - Always has good music.
PlaneShift! - of course...
FX Fighter - Good, but sometimes annoying game, too.
MEGAMAN - Anyone else here like Megaman music?
The 7th Guest - Ooh, man...
Red Alert - Though it gets a bit repetitive.
WarCraft - Of course.  And has anyone here heard an .xm called Warcraft?  I think it\'s public domain, and it\'s really quite good.  If I can find out for sure, I\'ll put it up for download.

These are some of my favorite bands/artists with corresponding song/CD where applicable:

In rock/pop:

David Bowie \"The Very Best\" - I bought it for Space Oddity, but the whole CD is growing on me.
Metallica - I really like their music from Ride the Lightning on.  M:S&M is surprisingly good for a live performance.
I used to like Megadeth a lot, specifically Cryptic Writings
Evanescence \"Fallen\" - I bought it for Bring Me to Life (which I later discovered was available as a spectacular music video from their webpage), but the whole CD, especially Tourniquet, is quite good.
Madness \"Our House\" - Such a fun song to listen to while renovating my house, hehe.
Vanessa Carlton \"A Thousand Miles\" only! - I used think she was cool, especially since she\'s 1 day older than I am and grew up not too far away, and \'cause she\'s pretty :-p but after she sang in Big Yellow Taxi, I lost respect for her.  \"Farmer, farmer throw away your DDT..I don\'t care \'bout malaria killing millions of people in Panama...(or the fact that DDT is the single biggest lifesaver of humans AND animals, even birds).\"
Bruno Legarde - Alright, anyone know who that is?
Beatles - I hear so many ppl say, \"I\'m sorry, but the Beatles suck!\" only to find out they haven\'t heard any of their music...try I Am the Walrus or Live and Let Die.
Beach Boys - Okay, not really.  I used to listen to them when I was 8, but then I discovered that their albums were just a medley of their song.  ;-)
Weird \"Al\" Yankovic - The greatest musician ever.  Much of his music is better than the original.
Grateful Dead - wooh!  (=
Led Zep!! - Wow, so many bands I really like, how can I give them all exclamation points?
Korn \"Follow the Leader\" - That\'s the only one I really like.  I like listening to it while driving at night down highways through the woods on very long trips.
Rammstein - Zerh gud.
Rob Zombie - Bearable.
Rolling Stones - Though I only have old LPs.
Fleetwood Mac
Peter Schilling and his one song \"Major Tom (Coming Home)\", which is sort of an 80\'s-ish Space Oddity-related song.
Pink Floyd and The Doors
The Coasters
Robbie Delauter - A local guy.  I don\'t even know whether he still plays.
Ventures - They\'ve been heard from much more often than they\'ve been heard of.
Garbage - I haven\'t heard much, but I like the flavor of \"Push It\".
Styx - I\'m now discovering that a lot of songs I like turn out to be Styx songs.
some Green Day, Queen, Guns \'n Roses, Moody Blues, Mortal Kombat (the first movie), No Doubt, Yes, Who, Fine Young Cannibals, Robert Miles (Children), Smash Mouth, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Offspring, Van Halen, and Queens of the Stone Age (No one knows).

And now the ones I *really* like:
Mason Williams: Classical Gas (short but sweet...never thought I\'d say that about gas)
Prokofiev - Classical music from a British madman.
Tchaikovski - And definitely notBach.
Maurice Ravel - Even his tutorial songs are good.
Enigma - What other intense electrical guitar will soothe you to sleep?  Really good music, and I\'m not sure whether E2 or E3 is my fave.
Jethro Tull - I don\'t think it\'s really \"rock\" or \"pop\".  Of course, A Passion Play, and several other songs, like Thick as a Brick.
Carol Fishbeck - My mom.  :-)  Amazing pianist and composer.  I\'ll see if I can submit some of her music as GPL for PS.
Theme from Dark City - Of course, I like the movie even more
Danny Elfman - Speaking of movie themes...though just about all his music is the same.  The Spider-Man theme is especially good.
Gustav Holst - \"Mars\" gives me goosebumps!
The Chassidic Song Festival and Lamb - You just wouldn\'t understand.  :-)
Yanni - You probably wouldn\'t understand, haha.
Enya and Loreena McKennitt - Too bad for PS that their music is copyrighted.
Ofra Haza - Pretty cool person, too.
Ray Lynch - Really nice when they play it at Wal-Mart
The Cardigans & Tom Jones play \"Burning Down the House\"...I\'m not joking.  And it\'s better than the original...I think I downloaded that from MP3.com, tho...hard to find.

What do I not like?  Um, Country and Rap...err C-Rap?  Now don\'t get me wrong, I like Bluegrass.  I also can\'t stand K-Ci & Jo-Jo or The Underpriviledged.  I also don\'t like Triple 6 Mafia.  (yeah, I\'m sure I\'m making someone in Tennessee angry.)  I also don\'t like my own music...

Wow, this message is half of the maximum size!

Just gotta love those russian war songs ;)

I recognize a lot of the names in your posts in my own arsenal of music... although my music is mainly death metal, I still love the occasional melodic rock song... actually, anything melodic, and it\'s got my ear :)

I just read the entire post, so what the heck...

Here are my favourites:
melodic electronics: orbital/bt/underworld,....
jazz: atmospheric jazz, I very much like Jan Garbarek
I like ambient with variation or  deep atmosphere - (check \"liquid morphine\")
modern folk
and modern classics - not to much dissonance please -
furthermore I like funk with an attitude - \"this funk is of the hook\"
and about all alternative classics
and anything with a challenging groove

\"Big Band Jazz!!!!\"  -  Ooohh yeah!  That\'s the only kinda music that you should \"Whoop!\" to...

I really like big band jazz (and find most other kinds of jazz a little boring), but I have not had the luck finding songs I like that I have with all other popular genres.  Like, I can think of some songs, but I have no clue what they\'re called.  (For example, I remember one really popular one that starts with big drums.  I remember it was played in a concert hall, which was a real breakthrough for the genre.)

Of course, I dunno if this counts, but it\'s still really awesome.  Mason Williams: Classical Gas...  It\'s sorta like a classical guitar football theme...

Trying to find good music got to complicated for me, so now I only listen to stuff I know I\'ll like now.  Namely music from video games and anime that I like!  That can cover tons of stuff, but a lot of it is RPG games, Konami stuff, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and FLCL (The Pillows).  Silent Hill 3 came with the full soundtrack, that rules!  But I do like music made for soley for musics sake too, in particular I LOVE And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Source Tags & Code is a great album.

And on the subject of music, in case you live in a dark cave or something... OverClocked ReMix
Ninjas have feelings too.  Mostly they feel like dancing.

BTW, I\'m listening to Led Zep\'s Trampled Under Foot.  Next is Battle for Evermore...  then probably gonna listen to ...And Justice For All.  :D

And in case anyone missed it all the other times I mentioned it, A Passion Play is the greatest song ever made.  ;-)  Really wish I could give you all the whole song, as the lyrics are so beautiful!  :]
