However, since the new RPers don't stay and the existing ones get bored easily, the community doesn't build up. I would vote to work on more community building exercises (such as events like the alchemist events in particular or Jilata's A Challenge of Minds) and more talk about RP over raw assets. If people understood better that this was an RP game not just a generic RPG clone, then you could more easily pick up the displaced RPers from from other sources.
That's a good point and something I've been saying for a while, we really needs more events in game and if they are able to build up a storyboard across many events are even better. I tried to do that in the past despite the lack of time (I was able to play only 2 out of 3 connected events I had plan ahead

), but believe me working and developing doesn't help with that.
Having more GMs (or players) actively playing events would be great!
I also think rules/quests may help/support the RP promotion, I must say we're trying to do that in many ways (and ideas to even further the concept are welcome - even if, please, keep in mind some ideas are easier to implement than others and we're glad to improve current features as much as we'd hate to trash what's already in place instead of trying to improve it), however RP is a human skill to the core and everything we do can't but help to settle the right "environment".
@Rigwyn: your machine cpu and ram is surely enough for quite some times, however the graphics chipset use to be much more important than the overall contribution of all CPU cores; so in the future I recommend to just upgrade the graphics card instead of buying a whole new computer.
