One has recently been given to musing on the rather bewildering sobriquets adopted by some of you. Why, one wonders, would anyone be named "SpidaManz111"? Is one to understand that you are a product of some monstrous experimentation? And that there are at least 110 other similar chimera at loose?

And now one is being assailed by one "Phantomboy86" (note the lack of ambition here: not even a "Phantom", but a "Phantomboy". If one wishes to indulge in such foolery, at least indulge full-blooded. And true to form, there is not one of him, but at least 85 others).

In one's day one had your "Reginald", your "Humphrey", your "Jakob", your "LeatherWhipGoddess". Good solid names. One occasionally came across some nonsense such as "Jekkar", but one could clearly see that one was dealing with a diseased mind and steer well clear. Now it's "SuperLaser345" or "MightyDemon666" wherever one looks.

One despairs.

You can't teach a pig to sing.  It'll never work, and you'll annoy the pig.

I swear I sometimes feel like I'm witnessing some kind of wild reasoning I can't truly comprehend when I read some posts in here.

Sometimes only part of the message is what counts. Not everything fits into a round hole, you know.

You mean like this?

I am pretty happy with the development of my nickname. Its founding is dated in a pre-internet era, when people used telephones and modems for direct connections to a BBS. When the internet became usual even in the GDR (former pseudo-socialistic eastern Germany), I was quite proud that this domain was still available, and so short. Unfortunately, I still have no real use for it...

Would it make you happier if they fought off the other 110 and 85 versions for your amusement? Mind you there would still be the issue of what to do with the one.

That might prove an amusing distraction, my darling Illysia, but the underlying malaise would remain. In no time at all, a "GhostWarrior43" or a "SniperSchizzle180" would appear, and the whole cycle would repeat. One believes conscription and public floggings to be part of the solution, but, as mentioned earlier, one despairs.

Got anything to say about my nickname in which I put a lot of thought and has deep symbolism to it? Proceed forth with the matter, my good fellow.

TL;DR: my nickname is old as balls, and I am even older.
