Clothes

I think there should be different types of clothes you can buy and wear (maybe make it yourself). But it shouldn\'t be an armour(should have AC 0 or sth).
For egz. mages can have a light chain tunic with a robe on it and no one knows about it. Only light armor should have the ability - a Knight in Full Plate Mail couldn\'t have it.
It would help to identificate players and tell if the player is rich or poor, is an Arch-Mage or a apprentice.

yes but I think everybody should have specific clothes, even under armour ; some of them would have magical specifities indeed...but also it would be good - for the rich & poor thing - to be able to make clothes from scratch, buy finding rare elements, fibers .....

Perhaps your clothes could influence the way that npc\'s perceive you. If you have very fine clothes, the npc\'s will hold you in high regard. If you wear shabby clothes, they will dislike you.
Or perhaps the rich will like those with pretty clothes, and the poor will feel comfortable with those that have cheap clothing. Suggestions? Ideas?

I want all sorts of clothes, that can be worn over light armor. Like hoods that wont let anyone see your face or tell who you are. Lots of customizable clothing. Like you choose each distinct feature when you are making it, but are limited depending on your skills as a tailor. Just have preset features for each part. Different styles, but for the more dedicated and skilled players there could be an ingame method of making custom parts. You could customize the left sleeve, right sleeve, collar, front and back. Maybe stitch some symbols on them. Cool stuff like that. It would help for each player to be more distinct.

Every different type of clothing would require somebody to create a texture possibly a model for it.  In ever quest they have the concept of armor dies that just changes the base shade of a texture.  It\'s kind of a quick and dirty way to get a different look.

Even though this is a cool idea I wouldn\'t expect it real soon unless you\'re handy at texturing.

I don\'t know if it would take all that much space.  It wouldn\'t take a great variety of close to get a good start on it.  Furthermore I don\'t think this game will ever be 100% complete.  There will always be somebody who wants to work on something, tweaking something, designing something, building a cool new monster, and all the other nifty things.

Right now it appears that the developers just want to get a game that works. That is with the functionality that there now envisioning. Different closes is a nice addition I just wouldn\'t expect it right away.

This is correct.  We are focusing on gameplay right now, and will work on aesthetics and variety after CB more, as we add other things as well.

Right now we are just trying to get to a playable game.

How about giving this job to the players?  There are plenty of capable skinners and modelers out there.  Post the specs you need and give it to the community to work on.

All items should be approved for compliance and suitability.  You dont want completely transparent skins, futuristic armor, nudity, etc being put into the game.  (Dont get me wrong, nudity can be a good thing, but not in the hands of children.)

Empower the players, they will do the rest.

I think that would be a good idea too... It would take some of the load, although perhaps only a little, of your hands devs, and we players would feel honored to help!

Everyone will want to be able to have unique clothing to their taste, but few will have the skill to make their own skins.

I\'m all for player\'s creating skins/clothes, but I think these should be made to increase the variety of what can be (more simply) used by all players.

Cloaks with hoods! Hoods! Hoods that can be pulled over your head and removed again. Hoods - on cloaks!

How about making the skinning-thingy a contest? The three best proposals will be rewarded with something nifty.

The Developers are mostly the players.. If some player have artist skills they should join the team instead of hoping for contests..

About the cloths: Actually I think it\'s better if the player would show there armor instead of hiding it under a robe or something,, Hard objects often looks better in Low-poly than clothing.
Put the pot down, no dont take another puff!, put it down. Thank you.
