By ZapharIdeas eh? ok how about this a massive story project played out in game between guilds and individual players. Screenshots taken at critical junctures of the plot arc and used to illustrate the final product posted on a website somewhere. Basically we start crafting some history for PS before it is released we could have this really fantastic backhistory that could be featured in game if the dev\'s approve.

Originally posted by Wolfmane Well if you don\'t mind Zap (Abemore just gave you a PS nickname ), I\'ll set the ball rolling then. These ideas in your suggestion I like particularly much, with some suggestions of mine as to how we can expand it included:Massive Story - An epic tale of guild history in Yliakum, probably covering the last 2 epochs of official history as described on the PS main website.Played out in-game - The idea of participants \"role-playing\" their part in-game and taking screenshots etc. is a wonderful idea making the project more visually attractive than just a written story. This also gives us all something to do in-game until CB comes out. I suggest that you think about getting some ppl to help you coordinate things so the in-game part follows the official story (like actors following the movie director\'s directions to make the movie so it follows the script).Between Guilds - Dameon\'s site on guild histories (excellent idea and worth a visit at: http://www.angelfire.com/games5/thesacredarchives/ ) gather\'s all guild histories in one place, making it easy for someone to read them all and propose a storyline, incorporating them into one story. I suggested an official cooperation between Dameon\'s project and this one Zap, maybe you two can talk together and see how you can co-ordinate. On his site some of the older guilds already have their History, some of the newer ones (like AO) are still completing theirs and could add it in the weeks to come. Also each guild that wants to participate should designate at least one person (does not have to be leadership or council member as long as sanctioned by the leadership of the guild) to represent them on a workgroup under your leadership Zap.Between players - This I think could be problematic. At least it should maybe wait till a phase 2 of the project where there already is a basic story-line for the participating guilds. Then specific sideplots of the story could be played out by individual players but it would still have to be reviewed and approved by some \"authority\" or project committee before it can officially become part of the project.featured in game if the dev\'s approve - Once there is a clear basic storyline the coordinating group for this project should contact the Dev team and discuss with the settings section the possibilities of using this type of history officially in game. Maybe as some collection of historical books in the Great Library or something like that. This contact will also allow the project group to make changes based on input from the dev team at an early enough time so a lot of time and effort does not go to waste.Well that\'s it for now. I really hope to see this project take off.
hey everyone hi Zaphar hows it going? *** ab031ns (~ab031ns@pD950F708.dip.t-dialin.net) has joined channel #planeshift*** ab031ns has left #planeshift going good excellent people are wanting me to contact you guys concerning my post in the GD forum Ideas for Annah url? (Link: http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=5272&boardid=13&styleid=3&sid=321d018702cd566a03c4a7250309ac9f)http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=5272&boardid=13&styleid=3&sid=321d018702cd566a03c4a7250309ac9f Annah was requesting ideas to keep people active while waiting for the next release not sure why you need to contact us for that. For now if you want to act out a story then I don\'t see anything wrong with that specifically about getting the story featured as part of the PS setting when it finally gets released if we werre to do it maybe you can do soemthing like re-enact a scene from a Shakespeare play hehe Zaphar: currently we don\'t plan any changes to MB release. but in PS style code-wise not changes just featured content like scrolls in the library or something along that way so we can\'t add features like : \"we could have in-game GMs capable of modifiying their characters at will, if the devs supported this idea\" well that wasn\'t my idea there roleplaying in game is always possible. but only the current objects can be used as rewards/quests mostly we just wondered if in the final release the story might be featured in official PS history no code changes or Dev rewarding it would be all us well, players make history everyday. it\'s just not written yeah but not \"official setting history\" but someone can write a chronicle of MB with guilds, members and events. the only events I can think of right now are weapons collection. so one guild can fight another in terms of more members or more weapons the point of my post was to create some events I was just throwin stuff out there really they took it and ran with it :-) If you want to make up a back story for the guilds ( such as my grandfather beat your grandfather up ) and act them out in game then that sounds ok as well and have people record them. yeah thats totally possible without you guys I don\'t know what events you can create, apart from guilds scores. Talad: I think it\'s more of \'made up\' events its the \"featured in game if the dev\'s approve\" part we would need your permission for yeah we create a story arc and then act it out we can approve only after reading the story. fake quests fake battles and duels but remember it should not require any additional development. what you can use is the /roll function Talad: of course thats all we would need it\'s quite good if you create rules for it I think that would be best for now. If you act it out and maybe write a script for it then can work out any conflicts with world thats what I was thinkin for fighting you can use the /roll function you just have to choose an rpg system people cannot cheat because it\'s server side We were wondering also if we could ask The settings guys if our ideas would fit before we use them yeah they don\'t have to tell us any information just yes or no Zaphar: as soon as you create events between guilds, there is no problems. cool well I\'ll pass this on and see if it goes anywhere thanks for the input :-) start proposing, trying to having a list of key points. not 20 pages to read no no just a timeline is all I was thinking not anywhere that detailed as 20 pages first I\'ll see if enough are interested then we will work on the key events and points AradaPilot: one for each guild, plus some more giving a reward for acting in the story is not a problem. cool!
