well ...here\'s my point of view on this matter:
noobie=newbi(e)=newby=noob=newb=n00b=|\\|0o|3=...
only making writing it in \"l337speak\" (or n00bspeak) makes it seem more stupid ...that\'s all.
but the true difference is in the way the word(s) is implied.
nice acconotation example: \"hey, you\'re a noobie, aren\'t you? <^_^>\"
bad acconotation example: \"fsck off you stupid noob!!\"
..see, it\'s all in the way of how you use it :]
...but in most cases in PS if you\'re marked or addressed as a noobie (et simili), it just means that people noticed you\'re new around here ...that\'s all ...most of us are really nice and helpful to noobies ...that\'s how (supprisingly and thankfully) PS works

...but you have to take into account that there\'s always a few who aren\'t nice (and usually are noobies themselves :rolleyes:), and that we all are just humans, so we all have bad days sometimes.
welcome to PS though, and enjoy your stay :]
