Greetings all:

Everyone, and I mean everyone, is invited to submit their charachter details for the game. Dont worry if you are a n00b or not well known. We\'ll select the most interesting out of them. Please go to this page:

PScommunity: The Saga

and fill out the form.

The form is to be filled in the following format:

1.Your name
(the PS forum name)

2.email ID
(for communication of any specific queries.)

3. Race
(any not just the existing races eg- you can be klyros or Diaboli)

4.Profession.
(in game profession that is. Also include guild name seperated by a colon eg-  Mage : Arcane Order )

5. Decription of you
(A short description of physical features
eg-
 short, skinny, with spikey hairdo, Wearing a trench coat and jeans, A punk Neo;).
 or
Old, with a white beard a 2 feet long, A mage\'s hat, White robes, basically gandalf:D
)

6. Sex:
(not the \"yes please\" variety:P)

7 & 8: your attacks

eg
attack 1:  Shuriken straight line throw.(long range)
attack 2: Katana impalement or decapitation. (short range)

or

attack1: Magic missile (fast)
attack2: Fireball (high fatigue)

Attack1 must be long range / fast/low fatigue and less powerful  
and
attack 2 nust be short range/ slow/High fatigue and more powerful

you can also (logical)OR these to increase or decrease the potency and ease like so:

attack1: poison dart (fast|long range)
attack2: Raging Flames (slow|high fatigue)


also add a short description of the attack.

9. Anything else:
Anything else you want to add about your charachter

10 suggestions:
 Suggestions and comments about the game in general

http://www.newbreedsoftware.com/supertux/ - it\'s a supermariobros clone, uses SDL, which means it can be pretty cross-platform ...AND it\'s open-source, GPL ... no need to go from scratch i think.

i like Sonic more :(

IF the games finnished ill be your TESTER ive beaten smb countless of times so . if there were to ba a tourny i\'d come in 2nd to this guy who has been playing it all day for bout 10 years

Use mingw/cygwin and SDL, so us linux people can enjoy it as well :)

EDIT: If you need an IDE for windows, try bloodshed (http://www.bloodshed.net, use the latest beta version)

Also note, i could probably help a bit since i have a bit of experience in both coding in C, C++, game coding(including platformers), SDL, and general graphics and game logic. (can\'t help full-time though, my own computer is a PSU short of working(gotta love defective hardware))

by the time you complete this bogus game, CB would prolly be out, its now the 8th of jan u started like wot 2-3months ago and CB has been delayed it will come sometime soon so there is no point of this development, u guys hav prolly figured out by now that its not as easy as you think

Avallok: As had been said before, it\'s more the journey than the destination.  Even just designing a game is fun - writing a game is also fun (\'cept maybe for the whole \"debugging\" thing).

It\'s got nothing to do with another game, they\'re just doing something to keep them occupied until CB comes out.  If they make the game then great, if not well they killed time while waiting.  And let\'s put it in prospective.  PS was started like 3 years ago and they aren\'t even in beta yet...so if they any where near started I\'d say they are making better progress...

The core of our game engine is being developed by Auran, who is having difficulty finding time to fit into his life everything he wants/needs to do (like all of us).  When we get the basis straightened out, we\'ll start getting a team together and have some fun, cause that\'s what this is all about  8)

they make this game to make it, not to play it..
This is the same as how PlaneShift is made, they make it because they like making a game, not because they get paid for it or whatever..
Most people just can\'t understand this for some reason :(

Very cool idea indeed, that\'s a nice project you have here. Too bad that i do not posses any skills needed to help out.

auran if we submit ideas for characters can we make up bogus   versions of ourselves? Many of us are so caught up in the role playing of planeshift that we may not recognize moogie if ther was a pixelated version of her real self. chances are shes gonna be one of those cat things (whatever she see\'s in them) *stares jelously out the window* So when we submit our ideas could they be our roleplaying identities?
