We\'re chaotic neutral. We serve an evil organization. We may do things that appear good, or evil, or neutral, or lawful, or chaotic, or whatever. That\'s all part of chaotic neutral. We\'re unpredictable.
[Edit: GAH! Too many conversations at the same time!]
Ok, let me try to explain this differently. Alignment titles do not figure into to the Transcendent Order very well because alignment is how you basically make a decision relative to your values...
By that logic, we would actually have no alignment because we make decisions based on instinct. The Order, the guild, and players, usually, are all Chaotic Neutral. Decisions are spur-of-the-moment and unpredictable. If any one of those three (Order, guild, players) swings in the direction of another alignment, a name other than the alignment is more appropriate.
For example, an evil Cipher might be better described as \"sadistic\" while a good Cipher might be better described as \"tolerant.\" This is all for role-playing and philosophical reasons, and as alignment has very little bearing on the game, I think it is being taken perhaps a bit too literally for the purposes of the guild.
We serve the Dark Alliance. We uphold the ideals of the Transcendent Order. Let that be our statement of alignment.
