Whos new here?
« on: November 15, 2003, 08:21:07 pm »
If anyone is new here, u can join my guild, \"The Crimson Knights\" and get a free jumpstart on the game.
If one battle goes, another comes,
For hence that woe tide us in
in blood shed we receive
the one that killed our kin.
The burning flames, the dark shadow,
Those that change our will,
Join we will, to defeat,
the one and only Sin.

What is your guild about? What do you do? Do you have a website? Or did you post this all in another thread, and this is just a spam thread?

Yeah, and you expect them to join you, why?
You\'ll need info, a site, and something unique to compete in the crowded field of guilds.
Honestly, anyone who has a mind to research guilds and not join the first one they find, will probably avoid any guild with such sparse info.
Go at it and make your guild worthwhile, or go die way of Gnome Merchants.

[Post addition]

Mr. Keraden, it seems you do not like the Cabal.  This is normal.  However it does not mean anything.  Your  capacity to be incredibly vague is exceptionally irritating.
I hereby present a list demands, which, should you comply with, will allow people of planeshift to better understand you.  As well as allowing you to earn respect among your peers.
The demands are as such:
-You must give a detailed mission statement and alignment for your guild
-You must provide policies for issues such as inactivity
-You must provide a system for long-term messaging, be it e-mail, a message board, or some other system
-You must have an Internet site containing  the
aforementioned
-You must be on at the least three times a week to speak with your guild mates
-You must have a second-in-command
-You must listen to your guild

I challenge you to do all these, though I may have acidentally neglected to list one or two of them.

-Monketh
(Good luck!)

Edit:I admit, Evan did put work into gm.

The key to manipulative bargaining is to ask for something twice as big as what you want, then smile and nod when you are talked down to your original wish. You are still young, my apprentice, and have much to learn in the ways of the force. -UtM

I believe, Kal, that you fail to realize that the game is the tech demo here, not the players. We\'ve all been around, played other games, and don\'t need our hands held. PlaneShift has been around for two years in the making and the community doesn\'t need a father figure to come in and tell us how it works :D

So how about you start playing along and getting to know us instead of trying to guide us??

Monketh, Evan put work into the gnomes. But look at this: Somebody made one post. That\'s not comparable. I don\'t know if there has been anyhting in Planeshift history as dumb as this to compare it to, but I\'m sure if we looked through the guild forums we\'d see something as lame.

I think this is the first time you create a guild and maybe even the first time you play a MMORPG. I don\'t want to discourage yourself from creating your guild bu i advise you to join first a guild, play with it a while, watch how your leaders handle their guild then if you feel enough strong and have enough time, create your own
High Loremaster of the Arcane Order.

Mr. Keraden seems to have dropped off the face of the internet....
Anyone see him recently?  He may be one of those in-game only types.

In game only? Hmm? Well then, perhaps it is you who is weak. Website or no website, you cannot get someone to join you from bland claims and promises. I chose to open this guild, to open myself and its members to the world of PlaneShift. And if it is Savion, who claims its \"Infinite\" strength and integrity, let it challenge, curse, or obliterate its enemies, but never will it get the reputation it deserves.
The Jumpstart, is a false claim. Merely in equipment and items. No help is given here. That is a trial one must take on his own. If one cannot survive, than he is only in need of help. If this were to add to complication to the world of PlaneShift, then I will take this guild down. I have work to do anyway. This guild is a confederation of good-aligned leaders linked through the Crimson and Shade Knights.
And as for the Mirth Guild, do not critisize this guild. Your alignment doesn\'t allow it.

You don\'t seem like you\'ve ever seen, or heard a n00b before :P if someone needs guidance more than a n00b, I don\'t know who that\'ll be... but n00b guide guilds get trivial in the long run..
