It\'s never good to always make your character come out on top, as that\'s hardly realistic. A weakness or two is a good thing to throw in, to keep the balance. In essence, choose a character, stick to him, and keep it realistic, within the bounds of fantasy, of course.
Just to add, it is so much more fun to play a character with weaknesses (I myself am playing (well not atm comp broke down so no playing for now) a kind of vagabound (probably vagant)); no money; dirty and quite desperate earning his keep with fortune-telling) than a uber demi god of D00MZ.
About crystal and dark way, hmm, I dont know if I am right but I would say that you have to be kind of schizophrenic to master them both, I am not talking about learning both, but mastering both. In my opinion to master a way you need both the knowledge and the \"feeling\",
I have never heard of a good necromancer who cared for living beings and for the rest of the dead. Just imagine a necromancer raising his hand over the corpse, the glyph in his hand and mumbling words of power, but then reminds himself that the dead should keep his rest.
About blue way, serenety, peace within yourself is the key to it. It takes calculation and a cool head to master it. Even the most tremendous wave did cross the ocean on a journey of hours before it breaks on the shore within seconds. I cant imagine that a mage feeds the beam of frost with the flame of anger.
To control the way of azure is mostly to fight against the mind of the target. It needs tremendous will to control the winds and to contro the mind. To be an azure mage means to have your head in the clouds, to strive for higher things. No true azure mage can base his powers on fix things.
And then there is the brown way, the way that is based on the circle of nature, always repeating itself, it\'s based on things that will allways be like they are. Some people may think that the brown way is inferior, but that most likely will end when a druid has a tree entangle and opress them.
The way of red, passion, anger, fury. It is fed by the inner flame of the caster. Only the most furious or passionate, can even strive to master it. The destructions that can be caused by it are tremendous. But often it is forgotten that fire in his pure form is base to all life.
The crystal way is taking it\'s force from devotion, and care for life. It is that fact that makes it the strongest weapon against creatures of darkness, who dont know those feelings. But never forget that the crystal way in the hand of a madman can cause more harm than any other way. Corrupted healing, burning light. On the other hand the casters of crystal way are often a blessing to farmers and wounded adventurers.
Back to the weakness statement from above: Balance is the thing that makes RPin fun, neither a demi god nor a \"I cannot - I see not - I hear not and I talk not\" guy will have fun RPing.
@Aeden: I know about the circumstances of your mastership of all ways, and I have to say that it (somehow) is made possible because of (kind of) schizophrenia. *Edit* only half true, it is your own mind that controls the chain, but without Yamuel you would not have been able to master the chain (or at least that soon)
*Edit* About that \"diaboli\" being evil thing. In that way you are totally wrong, the diaboli are neither evil nor unpleasent. Actually I have to say that diaboli (or partially diaboli) are a pleasance to have around.
*Edit* And elves aint the incarnation of good. Think of Draklar, who (before he left that path) was one of the most feared retainers of the dark empire.
