I know I\'m fairly new, and I\'m not that savvy ( funny word ) with guilds, but I have seen the demise of other forums due to spamming/too much OT, so here are my insights:
- Guild thread starter responsible for their thread! If someone spams it, get\'s too off-topic for your liking etc, then
1. - Politely ask the person to edit/delete their post
2. - If that fails inform a mod.
( Helps the mods and means you take an active role in the presentation of your guild thread )
- One thread per guild? If threads were kept truley on-topic then surely one should be enough in all but the most popular cases. I don\'t really see the need for \"X guild; thread Y: recruiting!!1!\".
- To get around the status of the guild not being obvious ( and thus resulting in new threads ) the thread starter could edit the first post and put ( in a prominent place ) the current status: e.g.
Status: recruiting, or
Status: abandoned
( Ideally you could do it in the thread title, like \"[recruiting] - myGuild thread\" - but you can\'t edit post titles in this forum

)
- make sure the rules are known in a sticky! Obvious, sorry, but there\'s no excuse for not seeing a big hihglighted sticky saying \"RULES\" ( although I\'m amazed that many people don\'t... )
Bah, I had a few more ideas from other forums that tried to get back on track, but I can\'t remember them now!

I I think it\'s just a case of people who are fed up of this to really try to stay calm and not to get into spam arguments, and like I said, keep an active role in preserving their thread to information that is relavent to their guild. I know it\'s frustrating seeing the same question for the 100th time, and people \"spaming\" too much, but if all the \"regulars\" refrain from biting then it can get better. Remember: it takes a community to run a community ( meh, that doesn\'t make sense, but I hope you know what I mean - \"regulars stick together\" ).
