what would be better is if once and a while the creaors would just make some rare swords that they will only drop to one person....this way many people will have a one of a kind weapon to call their own

i would prefer a Katana falling under the bastard swords category. its not fur blunt but slashing and stabbing is all you need.

i assume blunt is used against armour?

im having 1 of those things-u know, a headach w/ pictures

whell anyway heres my \"thing\"
making it so eatch weapon has its own lvling up system
so that as u progress through the game u can just use the same weapon as it gets more powerful
& as u lvl it up u can change its apperance & name & sutch (maybe even a spell or 2)

like my-uhhhhhhh......, whats it called again?

lol wow that is so awesome...i had that exact same idea a year ago but didnt think a lot about it because i was to tired... yeah there should be rare weapons that become more known and more powerful when you add to it... technically i really dont think they would gain levels unless they were organic or magik er something... but you can upgrade them...add things like names and then maybe a drak spell that does endow weapons with the power to grow that or a brown...

i mean a cheap ass weapon u buy at the beginning of the game can become the most powerful weapon u have-if given enough time
& i ment the lvling up idear to make it sound like u  were \"smithing\" your weapon

hey another idea to go with my old idea- u get these \"scraps of metal\" (either by killing things, mining, and/or bying them from a shop) and u can add these scraps to your weapon to alter it appearance & power & sutch(the amount of power gained depends on your smithing skill)so that u can customize EVERY weapon u gain (note-its sell cost also increaces as you add scraps to your weapon-hey that be a good way to make money }:)

maybe the metal added you have to have a high enough smithing to use...but otherwise they should have the same effect per metal... then also you could add magic properties to your sword, wouldnt wieght incraese as well?

For whoever it was that talked about the uploading the image of the wep to the server...I say, why bother doing that?

Make it so that when you smith, you can define the location of the pollies in the sword.

After that, you define the material and the quality of the edge...

Then, to determine how effective it is at, say, slashing, you multiply the edge\'s sharpishness by the blade\'s weight.  Huge, long, unwieldly weapons (i.e., a weapon whose width is more than 1/6 it\'s height) would incurr a combat penalty...

One of my first 3d design programs did exactly the above.  It even generated stats for the weapon.

I wanna join the dev team, but I\'ve only been using C/C++ for 10 months, not 2 years as per the requirements. :(

I don\'t see what the big deal is with all these fancy weapons.  I mean give me an axe that never blunts or gets nicked and can cut through anything like it were butter, then add an evil demon presence that makes the weapon even stronger and allows it to destroy divine creatures and I would be happy.... I would also call myself druss and clothe myself in black armor and be invincible but, the invincible thing comes with the demon

Oh and yeah keep on thinking of jobs for smiths and such, I could use the money

I wonder why we don\'t have threads like this about armor...
<Jeraphon>oh khado
<Jeraphon>you so khrazy

1 problem-that turn u in2 a cheap arrogant god, & pll wont play on the same server as u

another thing-the \"fancy weapon\" thing is ment to make the game more interesting & fun

& several other things-
1-u can use diffrent types of metal so it adds streanght like-stell makes it MUTCH stronger but MUTCH heavier, whill aluminum makes it a litle weaker but MUTCH lighter
2-u can use a \"cloathing system\" using pre-determened parts to make the apperarance of a weapon (or armor)-mutch like designing the look of your cartacter
3-ANOTHER IDEA!!!!!: make ot so some1 w/ magical powers can \"imbune\" weapons w/ magical powers (mutch like my freinds \"deamon blade\") so that it can cast spells or increace strenght & sutch

yah imbue is a good idea but how much power would the spell give to the sword....maybe there should be an imbue for each way with different effects

oh and armor is boring....

and no, there cant be a way to be invincable to everything
