1. I don\'t think the light reaches the cave, only Yilakum should get it. The crystal is above the top level in the stalactite, wich is inside the \'roof\' of the cave. So it won\'t shine on the cave, so trees and plants won\'t grow in it\'s direction

2. Since there\'s no light in the cave, you might say that there won\'t be any trees and stuff in the cave, but that\'s wrong too. Flora -can- grow in dark places, it just won\'t use photosynthesis but other things instead.
I\'m not sure exactly what photosynthesis does in plants, I think it\'s used to create big sugar molecules (or break them??). Anyways, it\'s not like the plants can\'t do without it, it\'s a matter of evolution.
Of course, that if Talad wants, the flora in the cave would be able to not only sustain without photosynthesis, but it\'ll also produce a nice and shiny light inside the cave so we won\'t accidently step into Cave-cow droppings

Edit: Hey, that\'s a nice idea... Cave-cows
