But banning should be an OOC punishment, not an IC bpunishment, so let\'s just drop it.
Why cant it be both? If someone is banned his character might be thrown before some wild animals or get his head chopped off. Or other penalties like hanging.
You haven\'t read the whole post, have you?

What I mean, is that when someone gets banned, his character will be \'dead\'. When people will talk between themselves IC about a banned person, they wouldn\'t say \'banned\' because it\'s not IC, so they\'ll say he died.
They were talking about usign permanent death as a punishment. I don\'t think it\'s right to close a certain character because he did \'bad\' stuff IC.
I said that permdeath should mean that the character is banned, wich is an OOC punishment (e.g. troll).
I didn\'t say how it should look IC (or rather, in-world), so it\'s possible that a banned character will be thrown into some arena with lions and get eaten and never come back, whatever.
But I don\'t think that a banned character should be used as entertainment on how he gets his permdeath.
If you want it because \'it\'s realistic\', this isn\'t the game for you, and you\'re wrong. Not every medieval town killed people for doing \'bad\' things.
If you want it because \'it\'s cool\', get a life. What\'s so exciting about watching someone getting ripped apart by lions, or getting hung? Do you think it makes you an evil person? No, just a poser.
In conclusion - Punishing by death is:
* Stupid.
* Inefficiant.
* Too much to program without giving any satisfaction.
* Will only entertain people that say \"ooh, look at me! I\'m evil! I like watching people getting torn to pieces!!!!!\".
* Idiotic.
* Serve absolutely no purpose.
