Hey Guys,
I love Planeshift and I will waiting anxious for the complete game. I wish the account continue be free.
But i\'m writing today in a search of brazilian player to form a guild only for brazilians.

Eu amo Planeshift e aguardo ansiosamente pela vers?o completa. Eu espero que continue gratuita a cria??o de contas. Mas eu estou escrevendo hoje a procura de jogadores do Brasil para formar uma guilda s? de brasileiros.

It is cool to see a brazilian here, there aren\'t many and the ones present are already in other guilds (both brazilian and portuguese players) .

Also, Merivar, instead of making a guild only of brazilians why don\'t you join a worldwide guild? There are many types of guilds, with different alignments, goals and all that stuff. I\'m sure there is one that fits you (or your character). Good luck and see ya!

I just want to remind you that English still is the official language for Planeshift. If everyone started to write in his/ her native language, nearly nobody would be able to understand what you want to say. So, please, keep it in English. Thanks.

However, Merivar, you are free to create a guild just for Brazilians, as long as you don\'t force the other PS players to communicate in Portuguese only. Of course, you cannot expect that other people (those who don\'t speak Potuguese) understand what you are saying, if you use Portugese in-game, too.

No, actually, you can not create a guild of just Brazilians; that would be out of character. A guild in the game must be in-character and basing the member-choice on an OOC factor is not permissible. An OOC, out-of-game guild (\"Brazilians who play Planeshift\") could be created, but it would be more of an organization and would not belong in this forum.

Resumed translation: Still thinking about going on with this guild? I know this thread is old, but one of the reasons I\'ve been avoiding this game is because I\'m not an expert in english.
 
There are currently guilds that serve no RP purpose whatsoever so I don\'t think having a guild based on language would do that much harm. In fact, it could attract players that are uneasy with english to join.
And who knows, maybe they can roleplay a weird closed group of people that communicates in its own language.

Outra coisa. N?o saber falar ingl?s vai ser um grande problema, visto que o objectivo do PS ? criar um ambiente original de roleplay onde os jogadores comuniquem entre si. A n?o ser que haja um elo de liga??o entre voc? e outras pessoas que n?o falem ingl?s, n?o creio que a experi?ncia do Planeshift v? ser muito satisfat?ria.

Translation: Not being able to speak english will be a handicap, since PS\'s objective is to create an original roleplay enviroment where players communicate. Unless there\'s a link between those who aren\'t familiar with english and those who are, I don\'t think you\'ll have a pleasant experience with PS.

Of course, it is a (if not the) handicap in PlaneShift, if you are not able to speak the English language. But what is the alternative? One alternative would be such an approach like the Guild of Brazilians: to allow guilds to have their own language. Although this might attract more non-English-speaking players, it has a big disadvantage. Nearly nobody will be able to understand all the languages that would be spoken in-game. This means that only a small part of the players is able to understand a certain guild an hence only a few players would be able to interact with such guilds, which might result in a players feeling excluded. And I think that is not what you want.
There is (in my opinion) only one solution: you have to define one langauge as standard, and this language should be spoken by all players. In PlaneShift this language is English.

However, nobody will forbid to speak your own national language in PlaneShift, but then you will encounter the problems mentioned above.
