For thos of you know follow the engine (CS) you\'d also know that the next stable release is just about ready. :) Which is promising, as it means that there\'s something stable for CB to be finalised around.

Surprisingly, when I spoke to Venge on IRC he wasn\'t too sure that they\'d stick with 0.98.. to me it would make a lot of sense since (supposedly) bugfixes would be committed to the stable branch without any other bug-inducing changes, although I think the 0.96 release remained a little iffy.

Why would they waste their time getting rid of every single bug when they dont even know what new bugs will appear?

Many bugs in a program like this are interrelated and multiple issues can be addressed by changing only a few lines of code.

Ineluke, they are squashing all the *painfully obvious* bugs - else there\'d be a planeshift update every day and the forums would be absolutely flooded by people posting the same bug reports (not to mention \"why doesn\'t this work!! OMG! MB was teh bettar!\").  Producing a release version of anything should be done in careful steps, to maximise the benefit of widespread testing while minimising the exposure of obvious flaws.

he\'s right you know, I found the game about three months ago, and my interest is pretty much gone until CB comes out. I found other MMORPG\'s, and I hope planeshift will rise above them, but I am just damn tired of waiting for an actual game :p

Actually I like to mention that it seems most of the recent updates to the history log are bug working updates, they used to have more updates for things they added, or very broad bug working for things just added. Seems like lately they\'ve been getting into details...

I read the history log from the start of this year, it seems like its getting down to the wire...

Well, from the general mood and CVS updates, I think CB is close, but not close like tomorrow close. I mean close like maybe it\'ll be released this summer close. Which is still pretty close, no?

It\'s just it, nobody has ever really tested it with more than 1 comp connected. We have begun the inhouse testing (Inhouse as in devs only :P) and we are finding bugs each time we run many users at the same time

We\'ll post some info on the main site soon

To prevent yelling, there are some stuff we need to test before releasing it, like security bugs, server crashings etc etc

hmmmm... im probably evil for thinking this but i dont want cb to come out just yet, cuz i cant play it on  this comp, gotta wait for a new one, and i dont want everyone else to get to enjoy it without me lol, very selfish and evil i guess.... oh well lol

I\'ve been guessing when CB would be released ever since last year, but it\'s been pushed back on every occasion. The thing is that there is real progress, although I\'m not personally involved in the in-house testing to see it in action. Judging from how things are going my guess is that the status of CB can be upgraded from soon to real soon now.  :))
