Just as a warning: It's not a problem solving game. Don't expect anything from it and you'll get alot.

Some of you Shifters might be interested in a new release called Dear Esther (a ''game'' based on HL2 mod by the same name). Worth checking out.

I'd also like to add my off-topic post:

Shadowgate is a 1987 "point-and-click" adventure video game originally for the Mac and is the most popular in the MacVenture series. It was also released in 1989 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, where it garnered mild success. The game is named for its setting, Castle Shadowgate, residence of the evil Warlock Lord. The player, as the "last of a great line of hero-kings" is charged with the task of saving the world by defeating the Warlock Lord, who is attempting to summon up the demon Behemoth out of Hell.

The player must solve a series of puzzles throughout the castle in order to proceed to the Warlock Lord's chamber. Due to the castle's perilous nature, at least one lit torch must be in the player's possession at all times; if the torch is extinguished, the player soon stumbles, breaking his neck, and he or she must then continue from a saved game (or the area in which they died, in game console versions). Since there is only a finite number of torches to be found throughout the game, this effectively acts as a time limit to proceedings. Various items that can be acquired include sword, sling shot and other ancient weapons; though these weapons can not actually be used as striking weapons, they can be clicked on at the appropriate time to deliver a fatal blow to specific enemies
The game is notorious for its many opportunities of death, including being burned by a dragon's breath, attacked by a cyclops, sucked into outer space through a broken mirror, dissolved by acidic slime, mauled by a wolf-woman, eaten by sharks, and suicide. In fact, virtually any action taken by the player which is not the correct solution to a puzzle will result in a fatality. These deaths were often graphically described in the game's text (along with often sardonic and humorous comments), even in the NES version (in spite of Nintendo's policy of censorship at the time). Many of the game's puzzles rely on a system of trial and error, the problem of which is overcome by the ability to save the game state (as in most adventure games). Subtle hints can be found in books and the descriptive game texts. In the NES version, these are replaced by an outright hint feature which gives vague clues about what is noteworthy in any given room in the castle. The further the player progresses, however, the more useless this feature becomes, deteriorating into nothing but encouraging messages by the game's end. The NES version of Shadowgate also carries the distinction of being one of the few NES games to be available in a Swedish language version.
At the end of the game, the Warlock Lord has succeeded in opening the gates of Hell and summoning up the Behemoth. But with a holy artifact called the Staff of Ages, the player is able to mortally wound the demon; as it dies, the Behemoth drags the Warlock Lord with him into Hell. The player returns victorious to his kingdom, where he is betrothed to the king's daughter and entitled High Lord of the Westland.

You should try it it's a very good game!

The game looks like a Bloods vs Crips territory fight. I'm currently battling for my hood and have some outposts set up to protect it. I already got 2 sabotage cards but the list of opponents wasn't working so I couldn't sabotage the crips on the next street...

Planeshift is many things. But as already mentioned this is a dream in the making. We either stick with it (& the bugs, lag, LPB advantage, etc), or like most people, give up & leave.

I think you didn't understand the part where you should say: PlaneShift is not ____________.

Bit torrent is a program which you use to download the game with a torrent. After downloading open the folder and extract it if it's a .rar
WinRar can be DL from the net just google it. Install it like any other game.

If you just ment how to open it I suggest you double click on the installer of bit torrent and install it...

Newbie Help (Start Here) / Re: Talking IC
« on: August 09, 2009, 03:50:16 pm »
You have different tabs to choose from in your chat window. Main chat is for IC talk like ''How farest thou'' or if needed use brackets for OOC in main ---> [put your text here] /tells are private chat and 90% OOC so no need for brackets in my opinion if it's not a whisper and you are standing near the player you're talking to. Guildchat is only seen by your guildmembers (if you belong to one. Groups can be formed and then you can use groupchat  which is often OOC too. To write in the chat window click on the little space under the messagebox and write. click outside to use hotkeys etc ingame.

To choose what chat just click on the text.

this seems like a combination of common sense, which we dont need to be told, and moderately offensive generalizations. and of course a nice helping of patronizing advice to the team.

the colors make me want to gouge out my eyes, red green blue doesnt matter.

too mean?
if so im sorry, but i dont see a point here

It's a good post and many people need to be reminded to use common sense. How are the generalizations offensive? It's not pointed at YOU it's what we see in general and I mostly agree.
Looking at the post and the reply given by you I'd say the post has far more points.

Could you explain what the purpose of this would be?
Just curious, how long have you considered Outlaws a RP guild?
I mean, many guilds who try being a so called RP guild get shot down because they might take in 2-3 new members who don't comprehend all things yet... atleast 10 Outlaws (not you) in the years (about 2 or 3) I've played have been quite OOC and many players thought you were a PL guild.
I know you have done much for many RPs as have many other guilds also.
Now I don't know who's a part of your guild since you've gone 'secret' for all outside the 'circle'... (the circle is the handful of players who consider eachother best RPers and have the GMs greased up a bit...;) )
I'll make a guild just for you Orgo... your duty is to mine the whole week so I can buy a guildhouse. You in? =)

General Discussion / Re: The good use of /tell
« on: July 21, 2009, 12:35:21 pm »
I wanted to know what is acceptable for the use of /tell regarding OOC and IC discussions. I was wondering what could explain an IC use to speak with someone far away, if permitted for IC. And if not, can we use it freely for OOC, giving hints to newbies, passing relevant OOC information etc.

Imaginary Friends utilizes /tell option ICly which you can read about in the guild section.

General Discussion / Re: Questions About The Prison System
« on: July 19, 2009, 08:43:40 pm »
- No trials for minor crimes. Guards are judge, jury, and jailer with absolute power. Only higher crimes go to 'trial'.

- NPC guards. Players can't be trusted, and the job would be dull as paste.

I ment just that. Guards just say 'heres 5 years, have fun'

It wouldn't be dull beating up prisoners with halved stats... (yes i know what you ment).
