Gonger: I lost again my movement key settings...
Uadjet: Movement key settings reset every log in? Yeah, it's happening to me too.
Sampolo: another couple of questions.. is there a way to move the head of the player without moving the body? I mean not only the camera view,but the head.. I saw a player doing this, but I did not found nothing in the help about..
Sampolo: maybe I saw wrong..
Uadjet: It may have been an idle animation.
Sampolo: second question: do you know why I am not able to do the quest: Save Edrich Sultov's Reputation?
Sampolo: When I go to the character I can't speak with him about it.. is it everything ok?
Uadjet: Because you have started, but not yet completed, the prereq quest.
Sampolo: ok.. the prereq is a quest asked by him?
Uadjet: No, it's from someone else.
Uadjet: Work on your quest backlog and you'll unlock it in time.
Gonger: I made a bug report about the controls that reset with every login.
Uadjet: I'm not even finding the file movement keys are stored in...
Gonger: Maybe that is the problem ;)
Uadjet: It does seem to related, does it not?
Gonger: I will add this info to my bug report.
Uadjet: Okay, now to updates.
Uadjet: You can now examine NPCs or players and get compendium information about their species.
Uadjet: Anyone noticed that?
Sampolo: how can we examine NPCs in order to add to comendium infos?
Uadjet: The abilities are unlocked by the Empathy skill.
Uadjet: There are three abilities, though they're just different levels of skill at the same thing. I think.
Mohonin: I have asked this question " Who are you?" to many npc and some of them got their position mapped to the compendium
Mohonin: mapped or pinned
Uadjet: Yes, Talad added that a while back. Not every NPC, but major ones can get added to the map or compensium.
Gonger: Is there a search function? Find NPC Harnquist?
Gova: Ah, there's an eye icon that appears over the creature you're inspecting.
Uadjet: You can try it now, on each other. The command is "/ability Examine Creatures"
Gova: "You already examined that particular one"
Gonger: I only have the normal Look icon
Uadjet: This ability will be extended to critters, and will eventually include a lot of info. That would include info on ability and resistances, I believe.
Uadjet: This isn't a right-click thing.
Uadjet: Target a player or NPC, and use the command.
Uadjet: You can drag that to the shortcut bar, if you like.
Gova: Examine Creatures works, but Examine Greater Creatures does nothing.
Gonger: Ah, got it...
Gonger: The /target command would be very useful there... *hint, hint*
Gova: I know what I'll be doing after the meeting.
Uadjet: Talad has also been working on allowing official books to add to the compendium.
Uadjet: It won't add the book entirely, but it can unlock entries.
Uadjet: He was going through places where official books had been placed and found a few spots that I had set up. :D
Uadjet: He was okay with the Wind's Cradle Inn, but he did get rid of a lot of old setups that I had left lying around.
Uadjet: I wasn't sure if one of them was mine until he found a "Chamber Pot".
Gonger: That's a useful item!
Uadjet: Instantly I was saying: "Yeah, that's me. That's my sense of humor right there."
Uadjet: Monster lairs are coming along nicely.
Uadjet: Ideally, creatures should appear FROM somewhere, instead of popping into existance.
Sampolo: In order to examine creatures it is required at least level 20?
Uadjet: Some of these lairs can be destroyed. If you recall, he did a lot of work with gobbles, and how they would built huts and increase in number after going out to gather resources.
Uadjet: That's what this is, but not just gobbles.
Mohonin: i had once destroyed all houses and almost all gobbles in the pond outsite gug, now they are all back
Mohonin: 1 question about torches...
Uadjet: Yes?
Mohonin: now we can fight with torches, where torches are in the category of maces and hammer, so wud that can be repaired like other weapons
Uadjet: Torches are in the Items item category, so I suspect that wouldn't work.
Mohonin: and of course it will very interesting if torches can be crafted by players
Mohonin: ah yes they are in category items, but then where did i see it in maces and hammer catogery
Uadjet: I have no idea, unless hitting someone with one counts as a club.
Mohonin: i think maybe the text report of combat saying my mace and hammer skill leveled up when i was using torch and free hand melee
Uadjet: And Talad's obtained quite a few fish models, now. Once that bit is done we'll not only have unique models for every fish (mantas, eels, and lionfish might be delayed), but we'll be able to see fish in the water.
Mohonin: wow!! that's interesting
Uadjet: Emerald Lake already has coral, so adding fish to it will make underwater events more appealing. :)
Gonger: Uadjet, I also seem to remember attacking with a torch, and getting a message about mace...
Gonger: Checking logs...
Mohonin: the important thing about torch weapon or not but its durability decreasing and i wonder wheather we will get the same amount of light with say 1/50 durability vs 50/50 durability torch

Uadjet: Okay, we've covered the use of the '/ability examine creatures' ability - unlocked with empathy skill -  to examine the playable races and eventually get entries in the compensium.
Uadjet: Destructible creature habitats.
Uadjet: New fish models in progress.
Gova: Am I scooting around on my butt?

Uadjet: Let's see... books unlocking compendium entries... Oh! He's worked on achievments too.
Uadjet: If he continues on that, I'll point out a few that aren't triggering properly.
Zarre: I press my mouse wheel to make my head turn.
Gova: Faction achievements don't pop unless you gain faction from a quest in Legacy.
Gova: The equip magic item ones don't work.
Gova: Oh, mount/familiar ones don't work unless you get them in Unreal.
Gova: I meant in Unreal for faction ones, too.
Resildren: that i noticed

Resildren: is there anyway to redo the chain to aquire it?
Zarre: You're welcome, Sampolo.
Gova: There are some repeatable quests that will do it. Brado Wants a clean tavern unlocks cabal of whispers for some reason.
Zarre: Or simply have them grandfathered into the Unreal client?
Gova: A script would fix it. Run it once and it sets the achievement to pop when the next log in if their total is high enough.
Resildren: that sounds handy
Uadjet: If repeatables giving faction is okay, we could flag a few quests to give a couple points.
Resildren: well if we do a repeat, we should at least get a pie out of the deal

Gova: Harnquist Raw Materials gives Essential Trail. Sculpting Supplies for Gulm gives Fine Arts and Crafts. Charisa's quests and the alchemy repeatable gives The Care Takers. Harnquist Weapon Commission and Assisting Gardr give Eternal Forge. A Measure of Protection gives Weaver's Tree.

Gova: Yeah.
Uadjet: That's mostly about metal armor. Also, I didn't add that when I wrote it. ;)
Uadjet: I guess Talad tried to cover most factions, but we look to be still missing some.
Uadjet: Okay, we can work on that. Maybe just add a few faction points to relevant repeatables. That's likely an easier fix than a script that unlocks faction.
Gova: Jayose Lamp Fuel could give Applied KNowledge faction. And there are tons of repeatable cooking quests.
Gova: Remant's quests give Octarchy faction. I didn't find any for 13 Wards though.
Uadjet: Okay, I'll pass that on to Talad. I tink we got a lot done today.

Uadjet:  So, if you have any questions please step up to the lecterns in front of the stage.
Uadjet:  If nobody has any, I'll start giving an update.
Uadjet:  So, most recently Talad has been working on the Compendium.
Uadjet:  If you haven't taken a good look at the compendium, please do so.
Uadjet:  There's room for a lot of information there.
Uadjet:  Creatures, plants, minerals, factions, locations, etc.
Uadjet:  The map is, I believe, fully working.
Lytoza:  I tried to add a 2nd note on the map but couldn't. Is only one allowed?
Resildren:  i've added a bunch? if you mean the pins?
Uadjet:  The pins? You can add more than one, I'm sure of it.
Resildren:  i have over a dozen pinned
Lytoza:  Yes.. a 2nd pin
Resildren:  on the main map?
Thosor:  the plant, minerals does nothing

Damola:  Not sure I ever visited Kormia.
Damola:  Yeah, nothing happens when clicking Ojaveda or Amdeneir or so.
Resildren:  hum just tested on another amadier and can only have 2 pins, odd
Damola:  Will there be a map editor? There is "Add a map" and custom.
Lytoza:  I was able to add another pin just now though. >.>
Resildren:  let me stand corrected i just added a 3rd to that map
Uadjet:  It's the indented items that have (or will have) their own maps.
Damola:  Ah, now I understand what "Add a location means".
Resildren:  it's just a general pin not the exact placement
Uadjet:  Yeah.
Uadjet:  We've discussed having things like fixed resources adding themselves to the map.
Lytoza:  Wonder if we'll ever see a marker where our character is on the map. Would be idea for marking herbs etc.
Uadjet:  For example, mining at a specific location might add a pin to the map with the icon and text of that mineral. We'd probably want to have a toggle to show or not show things like that, or the map will get really cluttered.
Thosor:  "you are here"
Anysu:  Fixed resources added to map would be good.
Uadjet:  Yeah, Talad  does not want the map to function like a GPS. We have to bear that in mind when it comes to automatically-generated pins.
Uadjet:  Doing the compendium entries means getting images for every entry, which has led Talad to do some more textured upgrades. Just today he redid the ore/ingot/stock textures. They're shiny, now.

Uadjet:  Oh, before I go any further, I should mention that I did alter the Lock-200 crate, if anyone wants to test it.
Uadjet:  So, Talad has also done more work on dungeons, and we can now have multiple running at the same time.
Uadjet:  This will allow us to have dungeons of different difficulty levels, so new players can have one that doesn't kill them immediately.
Uadjet:  Talad also added a new special room for dungeons, as well as secret passageways that players can detect and open.
Damola:  Multiple dungeons running at the same time? so when entering the same dungeon for each char a new dungeon is spawned? But then they do not see each other and can not cooperate? I do not yet understand how that is supposed to work
Uadjet:  No, each portal has a dungeon assigned to it.
Uadjet:  Multiple players can then be in the same dungeon.
Damola:  Ah, so there would be more than one dungeon to choose from, okay.
Thosor:  Can only open up to 100 with my teeth.
Uadjet:  Okay, I changed lock 50 as well.
Damola:  Just came to my mind: Yesterday Damola could have asked Thosor for one of his towels in order to dry up Gul.
Damola:  Any other news?
Uadjet:  Talad has also been working on the economy, and part of that is repeatable quests to assist different factions.
Uadjet:  Resildren?

Resildren:  ok  during the stream Talad mentioned that he had considered the new update for this weekend, but may choose to do it sometime this week, is this true?
Uadjet:  The repeatable quests could be about providing tria, but I think it's more likely you'll be needing to gather resources, like metal, or plants, or stone.
Uadjet:  Ah yeah, the masonry skill was mentioned.
Uadjet:  Oh, a new release will be coming soon.
Uadjet:  Talad wanted to get it released Saturday morning, but it wasn't quite ready yet.
Resildren:  yes the unreal update
Damola:  Nice. I am looking forward to all the chat related fixes.
Uadjet:  It shouldn't take long, unless he finds something else he just really wants to get into the update.

Thosor:  oh, and the petero!
Anysu:  hmmm if it's next Sat I may miss event. I work that day so I'd be late anyway. Getting downloaded new version that same day will probably delay me.
Resildren:  he did a nice touch up on the ptero today,
Resildren:  the other question has to do with harvesting

Damola:  Uadjet, you know what that means, do you? You know what that means.
Uadjet:  Oh, with a bow?
Uadjet:  I tried to replicate that and couldn't.
Damola:  "Nice " was referring to Ptero.
Resildren:  ahh yes but from what i understand it's a known, when i use the bow and target all works fine till i try to untargeet and I'm stuck in the pre tatget sequence? just this make sense?
Thosor:  It is hard to reproduce, but with any weapon, I believe.
Damola:  Uadjet, once we have nicely winged Pterosaur's back, you absolutely need to do another Ptero related event, Uadjet.

Thosor:  Yes it was fun to hijack a ptero or two during that event.

Resildren:  perhaps they are under the ground?
Uadjet:  I tried turning off gravity and sliding underground. I'm seeing nothing.
Resildren:  well if anyone finds them i'l give them some gobo salve, but i need it to make it

Uadjet:  And note to self: Don't set trap strength to 200. That's what caused the crash earlier. My client went down the instant I hit save, too.

Uadjet:  Today I set up some chests, if you'd like to test your lockpicking skills against my ability to lock items.
Uadjet:  So you should be able to lock and unlock those crates.
Uadjet:  And if you find out what skill that last one uses, let me know. I only know the value for the lockpicking skill. :D

Thosor:  failed to unlock this one, but got ranked up in Backstab?

Uadjet:  Oh, now THAT is interesting!

Resildren:  the first one picked
Uadjet:  Okay, let's give a quick update.
Gonger:  Yes, I ranked up in Backstab, too.
Thosor:  failed at 150, no backstab info.
Uadjet:  My mistake: I dangled something shiny in front of people.
Resildren:  lock 20 and 50 both show pregression as lockpicking
Thosor:  unlocked 100
Thosor:  2 more to rank up
Gonger:  Except for the Backstab thing, the lockpicking works as expected for me.
Uadjet:  You all are, I think, familiar with the new jewelry/adornment options for Enkidukai and Kran?

Thosor:  locked 50, ranked up
Uadjet:  Good. Talad did some work on Klyros as well.
Thosor:  unlocked 50 again
Uadjet:  They aren't in yet, but they take the form of tiaras, as piercings might be really bad on amphibians.
Anysu:  lol got the rank up in backstabbing. Rest were ranking in lockpicking.
Thosor:  20 ok
Thosor:  failed to open 150 again, but got 8 backstab points
Uadjet:  I have thoughts on making other things unlock using different skills. I'll test on one of my GM-Yet-Not-GM accounts to see which skill is which. I could ask Talad, but doing it the hard way makes me feel like I earned it. ;)
Thosor:  ignore last post, was on wooden crate, not 150
Resildren:  this last crate is the only one that showed me any progress on back stabing
Uadjet:  Eventually, all races will get these little visual upgrades, so look forward to the extra customization!
Uadjet:  Yeah, the last crate is the only one not set to skill 22, which is lockpicking.
Damola would love something sensible than the current mage robes for female Nolthrir
Thosor:  still unable to unlock 150 after latest rankup
Damola:  Also for all races it would be nice to have some different clothes than just armor and mage robes. Some kind of casual clothing.

Anysu:  yes to different clothes
Thosor:  I have 102 in lockpicking skill
Resildren:  bunny slippers would be nice?

Uadjet:  Additional clothing options would be nice, I'lll admit.
Uadjet:  I think recoloring the existing clothing would be easier, but Talad's been having fun upgrading meshes and making new weapons, so who knows?

Uadjet:  You may also know that he's considering ways to make the Dryken Plane a bit easier to handle for new players.

Uadjet:  One idea that I though was promising was the addition of extra NPCs into the Plane.
Uadjet:  Yes, thanks Gonger!
Uadjet:  I'm sure I just messed up a setting somewhere, but I have no idea how I turned off logs.
Uadjet:  I've had a few thoughts on it.
Uadjet:  Ideally, I'd like to set up an NPC for each race that might come through. A fellow refugee that came from the same world. Someone who came through before, but is resting.
Uadjet:  That person could share information about the plane, and mention meeting others of other species.
Thosor:  I have to turn on logging each time logging in.
Uadjet:  Talad said he could create NPCs that only appear to one client, but they wouldn't have all NPC functions.
Damola:  For me logging works okay unless there is a server crash, then I have to restart the client to make logging work again.
Uadjet:  It's not a fully formed idea, but it would, I think, help tie the player to their homeworld a bit, and reinforce the idea that they're just passing through the Plane.
Thosor:  I can't find the "click" when chat is updated in the bugtracker. It was good in legacy if you were on another window, and the chat updated.
Uadjet:  Then there would be a constant NPC later on, that is either trapped in the Plane or has chosen to remain. Likely a Kran or Lemur. Someone who can give more info on Yliakum.
Damola:  I did not fully understand Talad's comment on my last concern that the Dryken Plane would not account for characters born in Yliakum, but if I understood it correctly it is in lore that Kran or Lemur are asked by the Gods to go to the Dryken Plane and help other people come to Yliakum.
Damola:  One could find a way to make this in lore for characters of the other races who were born in Yliakum.
Uadjet:  Yeah, I was puzzled by Kran and Lemur going through the Plane as well.
Uadjet:  But both Talad and Laanx told their followers to prepare for the new races, so maybe there is a way to enter the Plane from this side.
Damola:  It was one of the main concern I had for in lore consistency how to explain people being born in Yliakum go through Dryken Plane, but that could be an explanation.
Uadjet:  Maybe a task that needs to be done to get full rights, or required by the churches.
Uadjet:  There is a thread for this on the forum, so discussion can continue there.
Uadjet:  Today, Talad was working on... Well, it's a lot of interconnected things. Daily quests, and tribes, and resources.
Uadjet:  Currently tribes (like gobbles) gather resources and use them to increase their numbers and build structures.
Damola:  How many live stream did he do meanwhile?

Uadjet:  Talad was talking about having dailies to donate resources to the cities or the bronze doors.
Damola:  Whoa.

Uadjet:  There are possible effects if people do or don't: City walls could show damage, or monsters could start attacking the city. If resources are high, there could be additional fortifications built. Also, the idea he seemed to really like is that if the BD is fully stocked, new areas of the Stone Labyrinths could be unblocked.
Damola:  And a serious look at the dryken plane.
Uadjet:  So players will have the chance to contribute to locations with resources. The personal rewards for doing so are not yet defined, but I'm sure there will be something. Heck, it could even grant titles, which I'm sure players would love.
Uadjet:  That's just me speculating, though.

Gonger:  First get current things working, maybe. Like Achievements - there is a ton of Achievements I should have, but I don't have them...

Gova:  I think I got the talk to and glyph achievements. The talk to ones seemed like they were calculated incorrectly, but for the glyphs one I just bought some basic glyphs from Levrus.

Uadjet:  Yeah, not all achievments got ported correctly.
Gova:  Familiar and Mount ones are broken unless, I think, you get them in Unreal.
Gova:  Factions achievements are only awarded if you complete a quest to get faction points in Unreal.
Damola:  Damola is Blue Way master but that is not reflected in achievements. Crystal Way master is reflected. She is even Way Master in that way.
Gova:  Equipping magic items doesn't seem to grant those achievements, other than the one for a single item.

Damola:  Also Damola certainly collected more than 40 glyphs, so yeah something seems odd with some of the achievements.
Gova:  I don't know about Way Mastery. I think only High Mastery gets the achievement.
Anysu:  Why I wondered how we get some of those things here
Damola:  Owning a familiar, owning a mount and having visited the winch is also not reflected in achievements.
Resildren:  on magic its shows marked as a red way master in mine which is correct
Damola:  Gova, yeah, but as Damola is Blue Way master she should have that achievement, but does not.

Gova:  I think the glyph one is one that I only got after buying glyphs and then logging out and back in.

Uadjet:  I think a one time script is needed to check these things and away the achievements.

Gova:  I had a list somewhere of the repeatable quests that granted faction points.
Damola:  Resildren, none are checked here.

Damola:  According to achievements Damola did not even obtain 5 glyphs.
Damola:  That is also why she does not hand out any glyphs to people :)
Gova:  Try buying a few glyphs from Levrus and see if that helps.

Hmm. I've got 200 Gb free space, the app placed in the right folder, and finally I have signed it. But as I wrote, I did check the checksum, and still it tells me that the file are damaged

Hi, if the checksum is ok, be sure you have enough disk space to unzip the content. Also move it under /Applications.

Hello. I've downloaded the game, unpacked it, controlled checksum - ok.  When I try to run it I get the message that the file "PSUnrealClient-Mac-Shipping" are damaged. I've downloaded it several times, with the same result. Any ideas???

Hi all, just a quick comment here, I do appreciate the updates whenever they come out, old player from before you changed over to UE with a new character, but a quick question, the weekly quests don't seem to be resetting after this update? I haven't been able for instance to the "Ores and more Ores" quest since it dropped. This may be the wrong place to post this, if it is sorry, it's the only place I could think of for it to fit other than starting a new thread.

There are already a number of veteran players who joined the new version. It's great to see some people after 15-20 years!

In general I'm more interested in new players, they are younger, so they have more time to play, and they can bring new energy/perspective to the game. People with grudges from the past please stay away.
