Well see \"Flameberge\"  means Flame Blade...how could you not understand what \"Flameberge\" has to do with the blade shape when I say that the blade is an S or wavy shape, since it has Flame in the beginning of the name, regardless what is after, you should automatically think of a wavy form...

Edge of Superiority
A shortsword with a blade of pure, solid ice. A very light, attractive sword with a steel and aluminum mixed handle. This sword is prefered stealth type characters.

Boots of Validus
Unique golden boots with small pairs of wings on each boot. They are lighter than air making the wielder of these boots levitate slightly off of the ground.

Siege Weapons:

Large weapontry that requires horses and buggys to move(mabey have smaller ones that require 2-4 to move) Then someone to assemble them(mabey a skill) Then require ammo, like large tree sized arrows for the big ballistas and large rocks for the catapults.

Dragon Scale Armor(or something):
Have dragons or some animal to be extremly rare and extremly hard to kill but from its hide you can create one single set of very very good armor.

Enchanting of weapons:
Some enchanting can be done just by one mage no items or anything

There should be high high level enchanting spell that requires alot of mages to be linked(http://www.planeshift3d.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=2008&boardid=11&styleid=2) toghether to cast.... also certain items to enchant a weapon or armor... and the items differ in affect... like a fang of a bat might add 1-3% life leech but a fang of a vampire dragon might add 15-20% life leech ext. ext.

More Ideas
« Reply #65 on: November 29, 2002, 07:03:17 pm »
Here are just a few more ideas to add to this growing list.

Ring of Immoliation:
This ring enropes the wearer in a blazing aura that increases thier skill in the Fire Ways and any melee attack that a unit makes to the wearer of the Ring of Immoliation will recieve a set amount of damage from the fire aura.  A water/ice attack or spell from the Azure Ways will diminish the aura for a set time amount.

Gravity Twister:
A hammer that shifts gravity into it so any victim hit by the hammer will be knocked back 10-20 feet, although it doesn\'t always work.  It increases the smithing skill.

Gravity Disrupter:
A hammer that distorts gravity within a radius and slows down the movement speed of all NPCs in the radius of the wielder.  It increases the wielder\'s skill in the Brown Ways.  Dwarf only.

Paperweight:
A heavy rock that nullifies any movement bonuses or maluses to the bearer of the paperweight.  It does more than keeping your papers from blowing away  :)) .

Siphon Sword:
A sword that can steals strength from a target and gives it to the wielder for a period of time.  It isn\'t really stealing though, more like extended borrowing  :D .

Spirit of Animation:
A mystic stone that, when used, makes an inanimate object (such as a sword or glove) animated for a duration of time.  In this form the owner of the item may telepathically order the animated item to do taks such as attacking.  Also, if the object is hit in this form, it may be damaged or destroyed.  This doesn\'t apply to indestructable objects though.

Rake:
A farm tool that is a stick with metal at the end to... ummmm... rake things into piles.  It classifies as a pole weapon.  Now you can smack your foes and help keep nature tidy  ;) .

God\'s Beating Stick:
Feel the wrath of an old cranky god\'s stick as you are smited.  It is indestructable.

Catapult:
Launch various things at your foes or toss your friends away.  The heavier the tossed object, the more damage that will incur.  For instance, a rock will do more damage when catapulted instead of your lightweight elf friend.

Scythe of Pestilence:
A malicious farm tool that degrades the target\'s endurance for a period of time when hit.  Any good aligned people will lose endurance and luck when equiping this.  Any evil aligned people will gain endurance and skill in the dark ways when wielding this.

Syernia Bangle:
A bangle that increases mana regeneration by allowing the power of magic to flow through you more steadily.

Ringsaber:
A device that is a dagger worn around a finger.  It is useful if the main item held in that hand is knocked out because you have a substitute weapon already on that hand.  It is more than an overgrown toothpick  ;) .

Turkey:
Use this as a decoy to gain time from hostile enemies as they go after this Thanksgiving gobbler.  After it is destroyed it will drop 2 Turkey Drum Sticks.

Turkey Drum Stick:
Can be used as a blunt weapon or a tasty snack.  Yum  :D .

Vest of Slured Speech:
A tunic that has the power to make you always drunk when it is worn.  This constant drunken state reduces charisma.  Who needs a beer when you have this gear?

Vest of Soberness:
A tunic that has the power of keeping you from being drunk when you drink alcohol.  It increases your intelligence because your smart enough to not be drunk  :P .

Scimitar of the Sun:
A relic from another world (Being Planescape has no sun) that sheds a soft warm light.  It is considered a \"holy\" weapon, increases your skill in the Crystal Way, reduces cold damage, and makes light for a medium to large radius.

Shovel:
A simple digging tool that classifies as a staff when wielding.  Increases Herbal skill.

I hope everyone enjoys these additions to this wonderful topic  :)

I don\'t know if someone already said this but, those swords were mainly used in large battles. In a game with small groups there probably isn\'t a lot of need for specialized weapons, but the kris design is really cool. Lugs would be very useful in any sword fight though.

Weapon - SnakeBlade:

a longsword made from woven bars of steel hammered into a blade.  lighter than any normal steel, so it would attack faster, as well as holder a better edge, for slightly more damage.

Weapon - Amphistaff

a staff of unknown composition.  In the hands of a skilled wielder, it can bend and shift it\'s shape to intercept blows or sneak past an enemies defence, but cannot form points, blades, etc.

Spell - Needlestorm

just a blast of needles, as an area attack spell, victims get hit for pathetic amounts of damage, but take a LOT of hits.

Weapon - Epee

like a rapier, but with a flat blade about 3/4\" wide.

Spell - Soul Strike

target takes X damage, caster loses 1/2X HP, caster chooses X

Spell - Soul Blast

X number of targets take X damage each, caster loses 1/2(X^2) HP
caster chooses X

EDIT  a few more...

Weapon - Katar

also known as a punch dagger.  brass knuckles with a foot long triangular blade on the front.

Spell - Fist of Talad

high level spell that does medium- high damage and throws target backwards 50-100 feet, depending on race(heaviness)

Siege Weapon - Trebuchet

everyone who has played AotE 2 will know what i\'m talking about.  Big thing, slings boulders.  I have built them, so i could help the modellers if they wanna do one, same for many siege engines.
just a few of my ideas,

Jessyn

Chaos Dragon  -  a deadly two handed sword (on its own a very rare and dangerous weapon) with a socket for a chaos crystal

Chaos Crystal - a crystal created when a dragons heart hits the ground. There are only 5 different crystals (ice, fire, thunder, wind, earth)
when the chaos crystal is placed into the Chaos Dragon the sword is given a higher attack and a elemental bonus depending on which crystal is socketed.

(of course you would first have to get your hands on a Chaos Dragon , which will be really rare, and then actually slay a dragon and take its heart to get the crystal)

I THINK THIS WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION

Great idea, but dragons should be very rare and hard for newbies to even get near one. In Helbreath they have 2 very strong monsters, Hellclaws and Tigerworms, some times GMs spawn a Hellclaw into both towns as an event and everyone wants to kill them. When there are like 5 strong chars actually doing some damage to a HC, there are 50 players dying around and stealing items from dead ppl with a stupid spell that lets you pick items from a distance.

What I\'m saying is that dragons should be hid well so that only one party would be fighting it, and when it dies and drops some great items and a Chaos crystal, the party would get it instead of a noob mage thief.

good point,
dragons shouldnt be to rare (like there shouldn\'t be only like 1 in the whole game) . Make a resonable amount , like 5 or something, and put them deep in caves were there are lots of other monsters along the way. Ppl who arent good enough would die before even getting a glimps of it. And of course you would have to go in a party with a couple very trusted friends because every dragon drops only 1 chaos crystal per death. In order to get more you\'d have to wait quite a while before he respawns and you aslo need to heal becasue an incounter with a dragon isn\'t something you walk away with unhurt.

another suggestion -

Dragon Shield - a shield gained from completing Dragon Slayer ( a posible quest in the game) , this shield gives the user a high resistance to fire, making him less likely to burst into flames.

I don\'t think dragons should stay put; they should travel around, just not near towns.  And they should be nearly impossible to find, like 5 in the whole game IF the world is huge.

Maybe those travelling dragons could make some attacks to towns, like epic quests for loads of players. When a dragon attacks it could leave before it dies so no one could get the crystal.

more general thing for weapons, certain weapon types should be more/less effective against certain monsters types ie hammer(crashing) weapons should be more effective against undead but less effective against something esle. this should bring in abit more varety and also its more realistic too :0
