That\'s because here, metal is underground.


And seriously, that Finnish stuff I\'ve heard and just got another earful from that website is good, but it\'s not any heavier than Pantera!  Listen to bands like Nile, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, and Pig Destroyer.  Even Slayer\'s music  is heavier in terms of songwritting, and there are non-metal \"hardcore\" bands like Converge that have evolved to be heavier as well.

Just a medium paced rock ballad set on loud isn\'t necessarily heavy.  And then you have the other side of the spectrum; Melvins, Paradise Lost, Candlemass...

American metal isn\'t any more underground than the European. I mean c\'mon, Manowar, Iced Earth, Slayer, Metallica?

And heavy or not, Finland, of course, owns all other countries music-wise. Most of the \"heavy\" stuff is pathetic anyway.

You cant say one country has better music than others, in the morning we could wake up a hear about better bands from Africa and change or minds.I wasn\'t into rap music until I heard the wu-thang before that I tought the Dubliner\'s were the best band ever.

It\'s either too Metallica like or goth \"pop\" bands with an annoying female vocalist in front. The rest is just a weird blend of ocuntry metal

I find all the new metal bands to be a bit cliche-like and the estabelished ones are switching over to a Metallica-like \"Commercial\" songwriting style. The future of metal is in danger

i\'ve listened to quite a few metal bands and i find that i now get a bit bored and move back to classic rock! (YAY FOR CCR, Led Zeppelin and all thos)

HEY! I saw Xordan expressing his feelings about this. He\'s one too. And me too. Though not only finnish...just gimme scandinavian. Viking metal all the way for me Nah anyway I like loads of metal but some sorts just go too far. Like Manowar. Too far.

But that\'s all matter of opinion I guess.

About the articles...I don\'t think finland is the most heavy metal country in the world. There\'s no such thing, everywhere there can be good metal

I think I\'m 4 then america\'s scene is not underground, but repressed, censors won\'t let most of it play (even edited). I listen regularaly to 4 of the bands on that site.

It\'s repressed, and it\'s not in the mainstream media, therefore it\'s underground.
