If someone managed to get millions it's most probably caused by a number of other small bugs, first of all the weapons power and boosted stats
Well...i know that most of you have no time to play the game but let me say that weapons' power and boosted stats are not the problem. I can spend 4 hours in the arena with a normal character with normal falchions and earn 30-40k trias easily. Drop the weapon's sell prices. Change the hit power of *all* the gladiators/rogues/mercenaries in the arena to most valuable ones. No one need to kill rats in the sewer...usually you need only a weapon and to know which are the npc that you can attack with no problems in the arena.
It's a general design issue. Most of the players around are not guilty.

Or, with a skilled and strong miner, you can make 30k-40k easily in 6 to 8 trips over about a 2 hour period. Gold sells for quite a bit, and if you're bringing in 20 ore each time, that's nearly 5k a trip.
Trias are easy to obtain--something that is a good thing, but if you're then going to put a (relatively) low cap on them, they should be made harder to get as well, to make the cap something that isn't easily reached in under a day's work. Or raise the cap. A money cap, while important, shouldn't be too limiting to the general populace, just the incredibly rich part of it.
(Also, an rp reason is that perhaps the government decided that they were going to tax people over a certain property value
