Few religion based questions:
What is the incidence as far as cults and the like? Noting the fanatics down in the sewers (who seem so intent on sacrificing me), what would be the incidence of secret cults (Illuminati, anyone?

), secret societies, or more wide open groups starting up new religion like things based on gods other then Talad, Laanx and Vodul? What would the average person know about Vodul, is he commonly worshiped as a sort of overlord god or just ignored?
What, exactly, are the followers of Laanx and Talad's views on Vodul (if they know of him)? What, exactly, is the Book of Names: a book of rules? a history? something in between, like the Bible? a set of parables, such as Aesop's Fables, except with a more religious meaning? What do Laanx and Talad require of their clergy: Chastity? Strict daily prayer? Self mutilation? etc.
Does Planeshift have anything comparative to dnd Paladins: knights who fight in a God's name? In other words, is it with or against the settings to roleplay one?
Few government questions:
What is the crime rate (as far as murders in towns, organized crime, trafficking in illegal goods, etc.)? Does the government commonly have officials who are corrupt? Does it often have crazy officials (for instance, ones who are paranoid to the point of having others killed, ones who will do things like make their Magaras their chief adviser, etc.)? What exactly are the various position's powers (in respect to control over the guard, ability to legally put down dissent, etc.)? Is speaking out against the government punishable by military action? Will the average guard take a bribe if nobody is looking?
And last but not least: Is it a punishable crime to insult or verbally harass the guard when they ask you to help them? If so, what is the punishment? Could they punish you even if it wasn't a crime that was on the books?
