hmm the deathrealm and ofcourse also magical healing are the two things that make overpopulation a wory I would say, but then the question is how much population is there? How many people came to Hydlaa and for how many people does Yliakum haave room without the need for a solution beside moving to a new part of land?

Anyhow my question is about outside of Yliakum. It written that Laanx encountered severel creatures there and even a declining civilization. How did they survive? Are there still any outposts out there exept for the Black Flame area?

Iscariot: Silver is not worth more than Gold in PS. Silver ore sells for about 60 tria whereas gold sells for 240 tria roughly. Both prices are vis the smithy.

As for the overpopulation concern...won't happen. After all, there are literally millions of names available using the naming system. This implies that there is plenty of room for growth. So what if some are named af and ge. The number of names allowed show that there will not be overpopulation. Add to this the fact that since PS is only 5 years old the servers are not reliable, and the fact that this will most likely never become a mainstream classification of game, I dont think overpopulation will be a problem.
And before You jump....try to understand what I am saying. A game that operates like PS will never call to the mainstream gamers, insteadd it will fill a niche of a small number who have been referred to as "Hard Core RPers".

He is speaking in terms of settings, not actual players populating a game.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

*Is* there anywhere outside of yliakum in which it is possible to move to?
what exactly is outside of that stalagtite anyway? nothingness? a cave?

and pizza good, the part that reminded me of my social studies class was the "getting jiggy with it", during world history when talking about the population boom

Quote from: settings
The Lemurs multiplied rapidly, built the ten towns of Kadaikos, and they became a prosperous and numerous populations.

For a period, Laanx ruled Kadaikos harshly, giving to the Lemurs inflexible laws and a strict hierarchy. After discovering the delight of ruling his people, the Masked God became greedy for power. He remembered the promise made by Vodùl to send people to Yliakum. They were supposed to arrive in few decades, and he decided to take them all, to lead them to Kadaikos and to become their god.

It would appear to be ten towns.

The reason I'm thinking about how they would be able to survive is the lack of light there. In Yliakum there is the crystal and in Kadaikos it is said Laanx created a light, but how do you survive in the caves where there is no light? You can't farm becuase hardly any plants grow without light and then there is the psychological stress of living in darkness all the time. It kinda makes me wonder what would happen to the eyes of a race who has lived in darkness for generations.

Some people also wind up talking to their jewelry, but that's mainly in more isolated cases.

A thing that's easy to forget:  Light might be the main source of energy on the surface of Earth, but it's not the only source of energy on Earth, and definitely not the only one on Yliakum's world.  Other potential sources:
Geothermal (if I remember right, between two to five miles down on Earth is hot enough to boil water!)
Magma (technically it's part of geothermal, but magma specifically can provide light too)
Radiation (could be harnessed directly I'm sure, but it can also heat stone and water, or cause certain substances to emit light)
Hydro (underground rivers, waterfalls, tides, currents, etc)
Magic (but I don't know enough about PS's specific version of magic to give good examples)
Chemical (for example, if some form of plant or creature could consume coal or oil, or if Kran-like creatures could metabolize more rock-like substances)
Wind (if there's a very long tunnel or large area, heat differences could cause this)
Fusion/Fission (Not natural and seemingly unlikely, but who knows what inhabits the depths?  As far as I'm aware, even Talad and Laanx haven't been to the other side of the planet.  For all we know, there might be a technologically advanced race of mole men out there with fusion power plants).

There are other sources too, but I don't know enough physics to know much about them (for example, if the planet has a magnetic field, chances are that field is going to be constantly experiencing slight changes.  How much energy is available and how it would be harnessed, I know not.  And then there's tectonic movements, tidal effects from the sun, moon(s), and other planets, pressure differences, planetary rotation, etc.)

Sure, some of these might seem a little unlikely, but think about it:  Plants can absorb sunlight and convert it into energy.  Human skin can use sunlight to help produce vitamin-D.  If you stop to think about it, that's no less "out there" than anything I mentioned.

Is gambling illegal, merely immoral or an acceptable practice in Hydlaa and elsewhere?

I mentioned nuclear power above, but I meant that it was being harnessed by intelligent (or at least human-level) life, as in it was not natural.  I was not then aware of naturally occurring fission reactors:
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_nuclear_fission_reactor
Quote from: Wikipedia
The natural nuclear reactor formed when a uranium-rich mineral deposit became inundated with groundwater that acted as a neutron moderator, and a strong chain reaction took place. The water moderator would boil away as the reaction increased, slowing it back down again and preventing a meltdown. The fission reaction was sustained for hundreds of thousands of years.

Incidentally, I have absolutely no idea how I stumbled across that.  On a whim I had switched my Firefox search bar to Wikipedia mode and typed in "cat people".  Several hours later I was still in Wiki-land, but reading about the Tsar-Bomb and naturally occurring nuclear fission.  Behold, the power of cross-references ::|

EDIT:  And it turns out that potty-training a cat is actually possible.  I'd always assumed it was just a joke.  Go figure.

If the Bronze Doors are power suppliers, for example the watermill at the Eagle, then how is this power put to use? I don't see anything using power in the direct vicinity of the Bronze Door fortress. Is this power transported to places like the Winch for example? How do they manage that? Underground powerlines? :P

They would operate things like the doors themselves, and uh...um....

Okay, good question. We'll get back to you :)
