They could very well be grist mills which turn grain into flour...nothing says they have to have a singular purpose or even generate power. The doors might be spring loaded shut and the wheel geared such that if it is engaged to the door mechanism causes them to be opened.

There is a book that says they generate power.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

Is the word electricity mentioned? Power is defined by work over time or W/t so by proper gearing the opening of the Doors is work done in an amount of time and power is used even though no electricity, another form of power, is generated. Indeed even grinding grain causes work to be done over time.

In most cases there is a link between the bronze doors and energy production, for economic reasons.

It also mentions the mill and things but I cannot be bothered typing it all out. Basically says that its a power plant.

The book mentions the dual functionality of the Bronze Doors. Aside from border fortresses and security they provide power (not electricity) ... my question is just what is that power used for and how.

You could be right, they could be used like your typical mills but then I'd expect to see some grinding stones and other machinery there. Maybe we will one day .. maybe there is more to it? I'm looking forward to my answer :D

Now that I got your attention:
How to pronounce Dakkru? I myself made up this "Dakk" like in "Dakkadamdam", akk like "ACK!" like DD says it and in "attack". And to top it of I though of "ru" r like a r and the u like in "U" from U2.
Soo --> Dack-r-U
:D Am I good or what? <-- actual question ;)

The BD could be used to create and focus magical power for some reason. Maybe they make magic 'batteries'. The Winches -do- work on mechanics powered by magic.

I have another annoying set of questions ...

What is the Yliakean Governement's stance on foreign powers or groupings that live outside their rule?
For example the Derghir village or settlers from Kadaikos or other people from the Stone Labyrinths? Are they all forced to abide by Yliakum Law or brutally silenced from the moment they appear on one of Yliakum's levels?

Does Yliakum, as a nation, ever attempt to conquer the Stone Labyrinths?

For my people: The idea is not to answer their questions here, but to create in game content that answers their questions.

For all posters: Keep your questions coming many of you may have already noticed some of your concerns have been addressed by in game books in response. Many many are now in editing and we are making every effort to answer all questions deemed reasonable and needful in game.

Do you really want to wait for this to be answered ingame? if not go post it again somewhere else.

What do you mean by "already in Yliakum"?

If you mean "the ones you see in game," then the "lakes and rivers" you see are actually ponds and streams, and will be named soon, as will the mountain ranges. We have people on it.

If you mean "known in Yliakum," there are a handful mentioned already in game in various places - two rivers and two lakes for sure. I don't believe there are any named mountains/ranges as of yet. But I'll look into it.
