"He ruled a place of fear and darkness, the shadowlands. He took Persephone, daughter of Demeter, into the underworld. Demeter would not allow anything to grow on the earth and it became barren until Persephone's safe return.
A compromise was reached where she spent part of the year in the underworld and part of year on earth, so we have the seasons of summer and winter."
the myth of hades and persephone....
im not sure if im any help...
but in order for birth death is necessary...
i cant say if there is an afterlife...adn i wont make any assumptions
i personally believe in reincarnation
but thats for another day
jsut think of all the plants that die during the winter
its the cycle of life
its sad a sad and melancholy time
but soon the season will change
and the sun will shine on all the plants
and they'll grow again
if the oringal plant hadnt died the new one could never have been born
and though we mourn the loss of one, we can celebrate the joy of another
edit-heres another little snippet i found
