the link to the updater isn't working for me... could someone re-post it or something  :) . Just noticed the server is up and I'm pretty psyched to start playing again....

since the updater is that mirror that the updater links are on, if you cant download them there is a pretty good chance you can get the updates.

well, the updater has a different opinion. that's for sure. Yet mirrors are pingable, the updater still says there are no active mirrors.

There are no active mirrors! Please check the forums for more info and help!

Updater finished, press enter to exit.

Oh and because it loves me EVEN MORE! :'( I downloaded the separate updater, ran it, and got this message:

Checking for updates:
This program requires admin/root or write privileges to run. Please restart the program with these.
In windows, this means right clicking the Updater shortcut and selecting "Run as administrator".
For everyone else, login as the root user. If you don't have root access, contact someone who does and ask them nicely to run the updater!

Updater finished, press enter to exit.

HAHA but I AM the admin!! I checked and double checked and yes, even triple checked...I have read/write access to everything, I am logged into the admin account. There is no reason this should be happening. Does that stop it? I think NOT!

Sorry to answer here even if I have no experience with a MAC at all, but I've heard about that error message before ;) http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=33537.0
This was on a linux system, but maybe it applies to a MAC too. Is the updater placed in your installation directory of planeshift? If this doesn't help, then please excuse myself and ignore this post ;)

Are you familiar with the Terminal? You could try executing that (sudo) from the CLI if you're comfortable with it.

It works for me; I just had to fix that line in the XML file and download the newest updater.

i am on mac os x. i have tried EVERY SINGLE ONE of these tips on getting it to work, but....nothing. when i run the updater, i get a new zip file called 'macosx-0.4.01.zip'. what is this?
i changed the 'updaterinfo.xml' file to active - nothing.
tried running updater from within the 'psupdater' package - nothing
'14/09/2008 09:52:10 [0x0-0x3f03f].com.apple.archiveutility[1175] ditto: art/world/ojaroad2.zip.vcdiff: No such file or directory' message appears when i run updater
it also says 'checking for updates for all files: Updates available!' then says 'downloading updates...0%' and stops
PLEASE help me. i really want this to work!

14/09/2008 10:26:02 [0x0-0x3d03d].psupdater[1173] Couldn't read file /this/updaterinfo.xml.bak!

14/09/2008 10:26:02 [0x0-0x3d03d].psupdater[1173] Update finished!
14/09/2008 10:26:02 [0x0-0x3d03d].psupdater[1173] Updater finished, press enter to exit.'

None of those worked :( When i disabled the shaders, i put it two lines below the original text (with one blank line in between) maybe this is the problem? wasn't sure where to put it. Otherwise, still doesn't work...Sorry for being such a hassle, just really want to get back into PS!

does it make a difference which host/client version i use? I am in the USA, so one with the flag, I get that. but then i'm running a 10.4.11 Mac OS X, Intel Core 2 Duo processor...I was going to download the Xordan version "0.4.01 for newer OS" Is this right? Does it matter which one I choose?

EDIT:
Am following this guide:
http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=14416.0
rather than running the updater PS comes with, i got the new one and ran it (after changing the false to true). Now i have two zip files: "macosx-0.4.02.zip" and "psupdatermacosx.zip" should i unzip these?

Have you updated the drivers of your graphic card?

since 0.3.019 Crystal Blue || Sometimes a ragequit is the right decision.
