I, as I had somewhat hoped, was attacked by this thief. However, he was prepared for me, freezing me just as he appeared behind me. I noticed him only moments before I was frozen, and hadn't even the time to go for my blades before I was unable to move. He asked, quite needlessly, for my trias, and I told him he could have my tria pouch all he wanted. Those who know me will laugh, as all that thief will find in my tria pouch is a bunch of razor blades and all of the trias I own. None. Unfortunately, this freezing spell of his will make things much more difficult for anyone trying to capture him. For all who read, beware.

[[I suggest changing "razor blades" to "shards of glass" or "needles", as there is no such thing as razor 'blades' in Yliakum. In the time PS is set in, razors (the barber kind) were -very- expensive, and typically only possessed by surgeon/barbers and the rich. In giving the thief a bag of barbers' razors, you would have given him/her a small fortune.]]

[[That might depend upon location, really. Razors have been popular and affordable since the late Bronze Age, as the archeological record of Europe shows: The most common of grave gifts in Northern Europe during the late Antique and Early Middle Ages - regardless whether rich or poor - include wooden or bone combs and metal (usually iron) razors. Besides, the typical razor of the time period was actually incredibly easy to manufacture, and a good smith would have been able to produce several in a day. With that being said, I agree with the poster above.  ;)]]

Earlier in the week I heard of him...the "Night Rogue". Real inventive name. Anyway, I end up tagging along with Gwinn, Eid, Talalas and a bunch of others...using Talalas as bait, everyone else watching from hiding spots.
Nothing. Seems the rogue`s got more sense.
Then we hear a rumour he camps out east of Hydlaa...next thing I know I`m watching that place...and the gobble village.
How come I, an innocent gambler, always get tangled up in this do-goodery?
Well, I`d come to regret it.

Only last night I was wandering the dark alleys of Hydlaa - not a great idea, I know, but sometimes you need to - and the next thing I know there`s a smell of burned wood - campfires - and a knife to my neck. Nice manners.
Anyway...without going into details, I tried negotiating...or at least keeping him talking until someone came along.
Seems he (if it even is a "he") doesn`t want his brothers releasing...he wants THE brothers releasing. "Each other`s brothers" or something.
Whoever they are.

Anyway. To my luck, someone happens to look into the alleyway.
That gave me the change to scre-#ahem# alert them and run.
I could hear him chasing but when I got to the plaza I thought I`d gotten away clean...and as the adrenaline subsided I felt it...my life draining out from my back. Must`ve slashed my kidneys as I made a break for it.
I just reach Hanace and some others by Harn`s...screaming my lungs out that he`s here...and Dakkru took me.

[razor blades in that post merely means very sharp thin pieces of metal. They are razor sharp little blades.]

[This is from Nemeden my alt's point of view, not Nedoko's point of view.]
I was walking through town to take a quick walk through the mountains on the road to ojavdea. However, I found several people in the plaza talking about the Night Rouge and how he was last seen in east hydlaa. I then continued my walk and when I was back in hydlaa, I decided to relax in the hidden gardens. However, on the way there, I was unable to move and then the Night Rouge came out, at about 4 in the morning. He threatened to kill me if I didn't give money so I gave him a bag of money then called for help. Afterwards, he tried to cast a spell and it didn't work. So he dropped 4 arrow glyphs and tried again. This time, It worked. 2 guards then came and asked me what happed. I explained and asked them if anything was different about the glyph. They answered no but one told me to ask levrus. I then found the people in the same place as last time and they Heard shouts someone found the night rouge. I ran up the hill and some people used a torch for light so he would disappear. I then went up the hill further and out the north gate and continued to the magic shop. When I showed levrus the glyphs, he said nothing was different about them. I then went back into town and by harnquist where people were talking about - you guessed it:the night rouge. I also heard someone chased him through the caves under the laanx temple  but he didn't leave and vanished at the exit. Somone also was arrested but I was tired and didn't understand why.

The Night Rogue robs The House of Games.

Eurac was brutally robbed in the back streets around Kada els two nights ago. He was found by the angry mob after the Rogue collapsed on the cold ground. His pouch gone and his spirit broken.
There is nothing left, The vaults of The House of Games are empty, the Prize fund for The Hydlaa Draw gone. This Night Rogue stole from every citizen that evening.
Eurac was later found drunk and begging in the plaza, a sad sight to see.
The guard suggested applying for compensation from the Octarch by speaking to Jefecra. Maybe we, all that have been robbed, should petition Jefecra. THIS NIGHT ROGUE MUST BE CAUGHT, DEMAND THE GUARDS DO SOMETHING SOON.

Removes her quill from her Pack, and scribes her account of her assault to be added to the many others on the wall.
It was late. I had lost my Groffel Bacci and set out to find her. She had a habit of heading to the east of town. Bacci Likes to play with the Kirkri who run loose there. So I began my search there.
Suddenly the wind grew cold and stale. Before I knew it, he was behind me. I felt his cold blade against my throat, his Hot rancid breath at my ear…. “shhhhh he said” and demanded My tria,  His voice was cool and heartless as he threatened to do unspeakable things if I did not turn over my coin.. I am ashamed to say, I did beg for my life. Thoughts of My kits ran through my head, thoughts of them without a mother. I handed him my tria Pleading he do me no harm. The knife eased from my throat as he tried to cast a spell. His staff identical to those carried by the guard was held clumsily in his hands. He did not manage to cast his spell and grew angry at the staff “It is not working” he bellowed as he tapped it heavily upon the ground. He released his grip upon me. This was my chance and I took it. I ran as fast as I could. I  looked back to see if I was being followed only to see him Vanish with a frustrated and perplexed look upon his face.

And so this is my account true and factual, to be noted by the law of the land.
Citizen Gwinn Frawd of the Sapere Magi.

So there I was wandering the city in the early morning hours when I saw a group of agitated people in the plaza. Seeing as how I have been somewhat bored of late and mindful of the illusive almost illusory menace preying on the citizenry I wander over to see if this was some lynch mob being formed. All of a sudden the fiend seemed to drop from the sky and confronted the two guardsmen! Perhaps I arrived late to the scene and missed some of the prelude but the rogue and a guard traded spells before the villain vanished and no capture was made.

As the prisoner is escorted to jail by the guards, Viloran addresses the crowd:

-The thief has been apprehended thanks to the aid of brave citizens -He says loudly- You can put your weapons away now. The situation is under control.

Then, as they get closer, he continues with the explanation:

- Most of you did not know it, but all this time we had been setting a trap for the thief. A trap in which he fell helplessly. Citizens Arnin, Illysia, Eurac, Karoff, Leumasocyw, Scisel, Aiwendil, Tadill, Quarry, Grikl, and Gwinn were of vital help. They posed as decoys to be robbed by the thief and delivered an number of trias enchanted with an antimagic spell. This spell corrupted the staff the thief had stolen and brought him down to his demise.

Monala interrupts him with a question that was not in her mind alone:

-  Sir Viloran, I've a question: Why'd it take the guards so long to come take care a' this?

- We needed careful planning to nullify the weapon he had taken, citizen. Despite the criticism, if I may add. The victims were instructed to deliver the trias we had prepared for him. The magic in these staffs is very powerful. That is why no regular weapons could stand a chance against them. With the enchanted trias, we made sure the staff's magic was drained. That is why we recruited so many citizens. We determined that the thief would not hurt them if they cooperated, so we provided him with the perfect targets.

- How were the citizens recruited -someone says.

- Citizens who expressed their interest in helping the guards instead of running around playing vigilante with their swords drawn were selected for this mission.

- And what of the other rogues? -another voice asks.

- The rogues were probably sellswords. If any of you could identify them we will hunt them down. If you know anything about them, please report these thugs to the guards. The prisoners will be held in custody until their trial.

Viloran takes a few seconds to assess the situation quickly then speaks again:

- Very well, I think we've all had enough excitement for now. If you'll excuse us, we have some criminals to question now. You can all return to your homes now. And remember: Obey the law.  Guards, back to the barracks.

With this last order, the guards head back to their headquarters in the Library district, leaving the citizens behind to tell the story on their own. The crystal slowly starts to light up as the morning makes its way into the realm. With dawn, the Night Thief is finally a threat no more.

The guards had to disguise their actions, even from those they were protecting. They knew knew the Night Rogue had spies, but had to keep that knowledge a secret until they could spring their trap. Unfortunately, some citizens took this the wrong way, and had to be 'removed' from danger the hard way.

All prisoners were released after a short time. I hope they have learn their lessons, as in normal times, being hostile towards a guard is a criminal act, and attacking a guard is a high crime.
