What do you mean by "already in Yliakum"?

If you mean "the ones you see in game," then the "lakes and rivers" you see are actually ponds and streams, and will be named soon, as will the mountain ranges. We have people on it.

I guess I meant the ponds and streams then.  :D

Another question that has been really bugging me is what all the different weapon modifiers do (fire, dark, icy, darkweave, silverweave, etc.), I know (or assume) that a lot of them don't do anything at the moment but it would be nice if there was some in-game info about different types of weapons.

" And now I'm even more curious. When you mention worshiping, how is this done? Since there is only the Laanx Temple that I know of, how are the other gods worshiped? Do the priests partake in celibacy? Are there icons and images? are there saints (not sure of the Yliakum-ism for it) that are also prayed to? Is there a liturgy? How do couples of different religions get married? is it a religion sanctioned event? Or is it state-sanctioned? Are there different sects with the various worshiping of the gods? Are there monasteries and convents for those who wish to fully devote their lives?"

Now that i think of it...will there be iconoclasts as well? What about theologians? Can players be theologians for the various religions? Will there every be some sort of registry of where characters come from? Ie as in in the temple of the local village where the naming ceremony (or whatever) happened after they were born? (the reason behind infant baptism pre-reformation was that it was like getting your citizenship card in your local village...and a way of keeping track for historical reasons who was born to who)

One of the quests mentions that all crystal way mages have a tattoo...is it possible for characters in-game to get this tattoo to show their allegiance  to a particular way of magic or is that a no-no for the same reasons as racism?

And Jeraphon asked me to post here...so blame him if any of these are all ready covered in the settings  :D

I think this is a question for the settings: In the wiki you can read this about the Klyros:
Quote
Their skin is similar to reptiles, being slimy and cold
That is a bit contradictory, as reptile skins aren't slimy and cold, but dry and scaly. Thus, I'd like to know which one is true - is it reptile-like or more amphibious, slimy and cold?

Why are there so many npcs who know little about their basic trades? All in good time I am certain.

Why is it that Jayose know little about the books in his library, he ought to be able to answer some questions about their content, even if his memory is not encyclopedic, and the same question for Kerryk Cor and his archives. If it is just that so much to do and it is planned, fair enough, otherwise allow me to suggest it.

Still, you would expect a self-proclaimed archivist to know what an archive is and at least be able to mention the names of the materials involved in his quests when asked about his archive or his collection. Are there any plans to make those materials readable? At the moment they are pretty generic quest items with a brief description.

Keep up the good work!

Why do the game lands bear less resemblance to this

then they do to a large flat continent on the surface?

Because all the lands in the game so far are on the first level?

That was an easy one! :)

But still if it's a hollow cone you would be able to see across from one side to the other as well as if you went to the inner edge of one of the platform/rings you'd be able to look down at lower levels.

kill your graphics card much? :P

You're thinking on a scale much smaller than Yliakum's. Even if you were to look down (or across) from one of the top levels, you'd see some strong atmospheric perspective - and not too many details.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

As per request elsewhere, I would like more detail about the various racial susceptibilities to various substances. This would include Ynnwn vulnerability to precious metals, Diaboli vulnerability to the sacred and Kran resistance to the crystal's effects. Any or all of these things would be appreciated.
Is it possible for some kind of unguent to act as a substance block in a manner similar to SPF sunscreen?

On another matter I would like to see some information about the weights and measurements system. From what I can tell this has not been worked out in detail and that contributes to the incorrect values assigned to some items. Some specific questions I would like answered concerning this are
  • are they continuous systems such as metric or disjointed like grams, ounces and pounds (or the monetary system for that matter)
  • what number base is common, do they use decimal, octal, binary, hex or something else.
  • do different cultures have different systems or is there one official system or both.

I've been wonder about how to tell one enki clan from another. For Instance are the beige enkis from one clan and the blackish enkis from another or do they mix and match?

I think I read somewhere that they cut and dye their fur in different ways.

Speaking of which, is pack changing a common thing? Frowned upon? Chosen by the child or parent(s) when each comes from a different pack? Do the Enki's make or buy their dyes? Do they have special dyes so as to not harm their fur and if so, is it illegal or socially unacceptable for another race to obtain the Enki's dye? Are there any known cases of Enkis trying to start a new pack? Do the different packs have alliances or feuds between them? Do their leaders meet up on a regular basis? Are their children called "kittens" or "cubs"? Do they keep regular cats as pets?

Try reading the whole thread. I'll wager most of those questions were already answered.

Hi, I've got a couple of questions that have been nagging at me:

  • Is there any source of light inside the stone labyrinths at all? I got the impression that there may be other peoples living there still, but I only see it referenced in the history as perpetually dark -- not exactly somewhere I'd expect to find anything larger than bats, let alone random villages. Apologies if this has been covered somewhere as its not obvious to me and I'm having a hard time visualizing it.
  • Under the Octarchal Decree of 425 AY, section X (dispute resolution via dueling) seems to draw some roots from feudal trials by combat. Along those lines, is there any provision for one to hire a champion to settle disputes on your behalf? I don't see any laws that would bar such a practice, but I'm curious if this is something that would generally be socially acceptable (say amongst the merchant class etc) or frowned upon. The wording of the decree itself seems to leave room for settling disputes by proxy (which could be quite fun, actually).

Are there any racial wars/constant hate between races due to religion?
Is there a religion a specific race shouldn't be able to take?
Why isn't there a suggested religion for a race, because that is the religion the whole race has (Kran being Talad worshipers)?
Why is there only the option to be Talad or Laanx religion when creating a new character, even though there are more Gods (with ingame information about them)?
When is religion going to matter really ingame?
And why isn't there some sort of Talad temple in the Kran city (excuse me if there is and I just don't know)?
