Are there any racial wars/constant hate between races due to religion?

I believe there's some clause against racism in the Octarchal Decree.

(Found it: XX. Racism is formally forbidden in all cases. Any predisposition against another race is vulgar and demeaned in the eyes of the Octarchy. We exist only inasmuch as we cohere, and many of us carry the blood of other races. The time for petty disagreements is past and the Octarchy has no place for those who would carry on the battles of yore.

XXI. Racism and racially motivated speech shall not be tolerated. It is far better to do away with dissenters than to promote hate. Those who would denounce harmony shall be cast into the fire.
)

Why is there only the option to be Talad or Laanx religion when creating a new character, even though there are more Gods (with ingame information about them)?

There are more, if you scroll down (Dakkru, Xiosia, Black Flame, Atheist).

When is religion going to matter really ingame?

Sometimes it does IC'ly, for now, but I'd like to hear the answer to this, too :)

The only answer to the question, when the chosen religion will have an influence on stats & skills, can be: "soon (tm)"...

A few years ago, some people took a lot of time discovering the results of all options in the character creation. During that time, all the "Religion" option (according to these experiments) did was draining the "Character Points" a bit. No other advantage or disadvantage was known. But there were no "Factions" available at that time...

There will be only very few people knowing the current state. ;) -- At least I (personally) doubt that fresh characters today will already have advantage factors related to their religion or family structure. But I assume that it will get implemented somehow, someday. Experiences and jobs in childhood and family already give startup skills and stat changes, but a continuing advantage is nothing I heard of yet.

My character is old, I didn't have that option at that time.
Just imagine it has an impact on your skills, what if in your RP story you happen to change your religion. Would that change an impact then, and, how is it notified, how does your religion show (if you want to choose to show it) besides just roleplaying it. (I know if it will come soon (tm) but I would really wonder if there is an intend for that case already.

Another question:

As there now have been more religions added, how many are there to come? Is it unknown yet, or is there a plan?

There's no plan, but currently all signs point to no more deities to come.

Here's a quick one i've been thinking about lately.

I know Kran are silicon based, but what silicon properties are we talking about? Rock hard silcon or the Pamela Anderson type silicon? Or are they a combination of both, a crusty hard outer skin with a softer, more pliable squishy silicon impant like centre?

I did a quick search and couldn't find any similar questions/answers in the first page of results. But hey my searching skills aren't renowned in this realm... ;)

And how do they move? :) I always thought it was a silicon-based lifeform, just as people are carbon based lifeforms, but are not made of diamond.

I always figured it was the consistency of silicon sealer. This line of thinking makes me wonder something else though, if they have no hair, do they have no finger/toenails either?

What do the races know of their previous lands, gods etc., bearing in mind that for races like the Dermorians their arrival was only about 2 lifespans ago? Do any still believe in their old gods or old ways (the Octarchal Decree of 425 states "XII. All may worship in the means that they please." though it is noted that another less accessible book states that a battle over 300 years ago "helped organise the creation of the Octarchy and the banning of the old ways".)

When were the Bronze Doors built? Are there any records of a noteable battle of the races against an invader (an army of terrible force) which penetrated into Yliakum itself ? Again bear in mind that Dermorians and possibly other races alive today could quite concievably have had fathers or grandfathers who were involved in this battle (c. 300 years ago) who would have passed on such information.

What knowledge is there of the cities, towns and villages of the Stone Labyrinths e.g. Kadaikos, Rooms, Ilith Thalisand and Xant Laan? If there was no  knowledge/ communication how were populations of Dwarves, Dermorians and Xacha able to be established in those places, and what became of the Lemurs who followed Laanx when he abandoned Kadaikos? Presumably there is some knowledge as one book indicates the pupose of the battle was to drive the Dwarves and Elves of those cities into Ylakum. If so is the great fog which cut of some cities known about, and are people not suspicious or concerned?

I also noted what I believe to be a discrepancy? The Yliakum Geography book states "Legends tell that Yliakum is located inside a giant stalactite, with nothing but air outside it." while the book on Races tells us that following an earthquake on the planet  a series of tunnels were created "These tunnels were eventually explored by the inhabitants of the surface and some of them, covering a very great distance, were discovered to connect to the Stone Labyrinths that are in turn connected to Yliakum." Do we know which races came from the surface, and which through the portals?

A couple of things I'm wondering about:

Unless I'm totally misreading the info about it, the Crystal is at a fixed point in Yliakum's sky, rather than moving the way the sun does.  Does this mean that shadows from stationary objects would also be stationary?  (And if so, does Yliakum have a lot of shade-growing plants to take advantage of the large amount of permanently shaded growing space?)

And a related question: how do people in Yliakum navigate?  Do they have some form of celestial navigation, or do they have to rely on compasses and landmarks?

Peanuts, yes the crystal is a fixed crystal up in the ceiling of the cavern that is Yliakum. However this is just a crystal and not the source of light. The actual source would probably be one (or more?) suns that illuminate the planet. Since those light sources still move, the light coming through the crystal will move a bit as well. I imagine it won't be as explicit as it would be on the surface world.

I'd like further clarification on Dakkruism (and the other religions, for that matter. I'd like to know more about the methods of worship, requirements for the devout of different gods, what's done to heretics in each religion, how the gods feel about the other gods excepting the relationship between Talad and Laanx, which we already know about).

Ever since I started roleplaying, I've seen people and books/NPC's contradict each other on Dakkru. I have IC reasons for my character to have misconceptions (her brother went nuts and sacrificed himself to Dakkru; she doesn't talk about it much, and some other stuff that could easily be pinned on the goddess has gone on during the course of my roleplaying). However, I'd like to OOC'ly know more about what I'm playing dumb about.

This isn't just about players playing Dakkru's followers and making her look "evil" through doing things in her name, either. I've noticed some contradictions in the settings. First I go to the DR and read things along the lines of "Dakkru favors those that kill in her name: rogues, brigands," etc...(I don't currently have the book saved, but I have read through it a couple of times), but then I see the NPC's say things like "If you want to please Dakkru, live well and die well" and "I don't think she's evil per se" - making her sound not quite so bad. Well, I suppose "die well" could be taken several ways, but you get what I'm tryin' to say here, right?
